we've just had a few quotes and Gentleman and a Van came out the most reasonable and i've heard from loads of people that they are great!

we also used clockwork and they broke our stuff too. Avoid like the plague. I wish to god I used Burke and Wills, I've only ever heard brilliant things about them. They were more reasonable than Ward Thomas and Gentleman and Van so definitely give them a call.

We've just has a quote of £2500 for moving a 4 bed house - including packing. Does this seem reasonable? Not sure whether to shop around or just book them.

It's not bad. You could get cheaper (maybe couple hundred quid) but if it's Burke and Wills, go for it. I have literally never heard a bad word about them.

We used Bushells twice, the 1st time, they were great, the 2nd they broke quite a few things.

Gentleman & a Van also quoted & I hear good things about them, whoever you go with, check their insurance as we were expected to pay the excess when we claimed for the broken items despite the fact that they broke because they hadn't been wrapped & packed properly.

Also if you have valuable furniture, antiques, paintings etc, def go with one of the larger, more expensive firms.

We were let down by three, yes three removals services.
http://www.london-man-van.com stepped in last minute to save the day and were absolute troopers. They provided value for money but more importantly their staff were professional and friendly, going that extra mile to ensure our furniture wasn't scratched or damage both on the journey and during the offloading process. I strongly recommend this company!

Hi firsttimerSW11,

You don't need a parking permit in Wandsworth area for just unloading a removal van ( I assume you are not living on the High Road). I also live in Wandsworth and have moved 2 years ago from Tottenham and my moving company parked their removal van without a parking permit.

If you still need a Wandsworth removals I highly recommend you these guys. They are great professionals and their prices are reasonble.

Regards,
Alex

I have used (and currently have storage) with Manuel Moves. They were more competitive than the above recommendations and were fabulous. I don't have my stuff back yet, so might jinx it, but I would recommend them. They have been a pleasure to deal with.

I would seriously recommend Malcolm at Bert's Removals. They were working for a large global relocation firm and moved me back to the UK and subsequently a number of times. They are reasonably priced and the guys are just amazing. Please pm me or contact Malcolm on 07791 586479.
