Any string players out there?

Postby jessthediva » Fri Nov 21, 2014 1:57 pm

Hi there,

I'm an amateur and rusty violinist and wondered if there is anyone out there who would fancy getting together to form a string quartet/ play some violin duets or any combination that works? It's just a bit of an experiment as I'd have to bring my 2-month old with me (toddler at nursery). It would make a nice change from 'The Wheels on the bus'!

Anyone interested, please message me. Jess

Jess

You might be a saviour:) My husband is a violinist too but a modest and shy one and often finds that the orchestras he plays in always seem to play at least one piece if not more for the concerts that is really not to his liking. He keeps moaning how much he'd prefer to be in an quartet or a duet so this might work out well. He is with the DSO at the moment, but been with quite a few and same thing happens every time with the music, so if you are keen on the old school classical that I think it could very well work. So exciting! Please do get in touch and hopefully there will be two more players!
Unfortunately, I can't play:(

I played a lot before my children were born and now the thought of trekking into the city and getting an expensive sitter once a week for orchestra doesn't appeal so I wld love to join too. Was good ish in my time. Now rusty. Love to join if poss! Happy to discuss if easier!

mumtoafew are you a violinist? Let's see if anyone else is keen over the next week and see what kind of group we can put together. Looking forward to dusting off the violin!

Um, so probably not what you're hoping for right now, but if you would like to hook up with a pianist for ad-hoc pieces, let me know! :D

I'm an EXCEEDING rusty bass player, but I do have my own bass (hold the jokes). If y'all got to the point of playing, ooooh, I dunno, the Trout...

My husband is also a violinist but probably really rusty as I have never heard him play in eight years! He keeps thinking about taking the violin out so this might be good motivation! Please keep me posted.
