I have no track record of hounding parents unless you mean offering them a leaflet and a reasonable discussion on the issues. I find your comments ridiculous and verging on offensive. As I have said several times, I understand that the parents behind the campaign are trying to do what they see as the best thing for their kids and others in the local area. I have no issue with them personally or anyone who wants to attend the new school. The issues are around making sure that admissions are fair, that this is the best location for a school and that we put forward the case for other local schools who are doing a great job in challenging circumstances (and are arguably themselves being 'dragged through the mud' in the national press).

Laura Brown - I am merely pointing out issues raised as a real concern by the Sunday Times - namely that left wing activists like yourself and Jane Eades will resort to 'bully boy' tactics in the months ahead. I would not compare the Mirror (a tabloid) with the Sunday Times (a broadsheet) as you have tried to do. Plus your track record to date backs this up. I am sorry that you appear annoyed by comments from someone who does not agree with you. Many of us are equally offended by how you have behaved to date. Perhaps it is time to close down this thread? I am not sure too much more can be added of any real benefit by either side?

Why don't you send a questionnaire to all schools in the wandsworth domain and ask if parents are in favour or not. This will then give everyone to have a chance to have their say and you can gauge if it is popular or not. At the moment you are all sounding like broken records :D

isn't that what the 'Bolingbroke Consultation' at Northcote library was for?

I believe that all primary school heads were contacted prior to the public consultation. Whether those heads responded or consulted their parents I don't know. I don't think it would be very practical for every parent of every primary school child to have some kind of vote - that's exactly what public consultations are for. Should we then all vote on the £70million being spent on Burntwood and (is it Southfields?)? Should we vote on whether it's fair that there are faith schools? The list could go on forever!

I'm pretty busy with work and family and don't often have time to sit down and read all the chats and whatnot on here but I noticed the various Bolingbroke threads and thought I'd make a bit of time (and a coffee) and look through them all. I can see it's become very heated due to the various opinions but I'm quite concerned that there's what I would consider an unnecessary amount of vitriol from doleofficedad towards Jane, Laura and the Union member, is this normal for a site such as this not to moderate posts like these? What's the problem with unions and party membership? I'm sure there must be other people posting here who are members of the Conservatives, Labour, BNP, Lib Dem and other parties and of trades unions; no crime is committed by nailing one's colours to the flagpole but d.o.d seems very anti left in his stance. Surely this is about children's futures not petty name calling because someone has a different political viewpoint to ones self. (I've nothing to add on the subject that's not already been covered). Perhaps I shall be in line for a whipping now.

Those who oppose the school very often do so on the basis of spin, innuendo or sometimes use of blatant lies. I will point this out as often as is required whether you approve or not.

With input like that 'ready2pop' I dont think those of us who support the school have an awful lot to worry about. Is 'thinking' a concept you struggle with?

Wow - have you even read any of my previous posts? I don't object to the school - just your tone.

This was an interesting and fairly well informed debate until it was hijacked and turned into a mudslinging match.

Can you not see how arrogant it is to assume that anyone who disagrees with you is either being mislead by 'spin' or ignorant of the truth?

You are doing the Academy a disservice by simply shouting 'unionist' or 'idiot' at anyone who challenges it (and before you ask - no I have no political affiliation).

I'm not quite sure what you mean about me having a problem with thinking - my entire point was that I, along with everyone else on this board, am more than capable of doing so and don't need you to tell us what we should or shouldn't think.

So it is ok for you to be sarcastic but not ok for me to object to that? It is ok for the GMB to spin a story about a 'bankers free school' but not ok for me to object to that? And as for mudslinging - you need look no further than the title of this thread.

I'm with ready2pop - this is getting a bit out of hand and not going anywhere.

Hi Everyone
Annabel here.

Thank you all for using NappyValleyNet.

I've been following this topic with interest, as I am sure we all have.

We have had to moderate only two topics in the 24 months since we started NappyValleyNet as most topics tend to "self moderate".

I only get involved if its getting personal.

Can we please use NVN in the way we agreed when registering, that is as a friendly open forum?

Otherwise I'll have no choice but to lock this topic which would be a great shame.

Thanks again for using NVN!
