Painless bikini wax? Post Reply

Hi,
Could anyone recommend a beauty salon /beautician to get a painless bikini wax? I am ashamed to admit I haven't had one for almost 10 months , as I had twin babies with a C section so thought I would wait until I was all healed at first and then kept pushing it back... I am now scared it is going to hurt so bad after all this time so would really like to find someone gentle!!

I go to the Waxing Specialist. I am 35 weeks pregnant now and just had a very painless Brazilian. I've been waxing for years and have to say I had my first experience with Lycon (wax type) and it was fabulously painless!!
I would highly recommend Marta (the owner)! She was efficient, knowledgeable and very professional.

You book your appointment online, which I found very easy and efficient without having to deal with a receptionist.

A good wax salon will trim you if you need it before they wax you. I'd speak with wherever you decide to go with first before using creams or trimming yourself because it may irritate the skin or be unnecessary.

Agree with Petal that Lycon wax is better than the old school glue. Remember each persons pain threshold is different too.

She specialises in hot wax and I used her post babies after extensive period and was fine. Just explain your situation. You can even bring your bub with you!

I haven't heard of Lycon before, I used to have hot wax done at Ministry of Waxing (but not going anymore as too far away now that I have limited time due to babies...). I will give it a go!
And you are right Petal, I know it won't be litterally pain free, but I meant not too painfull considering it has been a while. I used to do it every month and it felt ok. And yes I was expecting the beautician to do a trim first.

You need to go and see a lady called Coco in Fulham (off the Munster road)
She's amazing - uses a special kind of hot wax which is quite rubbery so no ripping off, and an oil first which makes sure its only the hair she takes out and reduces the soreness significantly!
I found a Brazilian so painless I now get her to do my underarms too ... And my pain threshold is LOW (epidural at 2cm!)

Strip on Fulham Road are brilliant - they sell a cream too that you apply 30 mins or so before that helps to numb you.

I went to see Marta off the back of this thread and she did a great job. (I had a baby 12 weeks ago so needed the thatching dealt with). Not as far to travel as Otylia's and the Lycon wax gives really good results, whilst being as "pain-free" as you can probably get. She's no nonsense and professional. I'm a big fan.

I also went to the waxing specialist on the back of this thread and Marta was amazing. I've been having waxing for years and this was the most professional by far. The lycon wax really does make a difference. I thought I had to just out up with excruciating waxing but not anymore!
