I can only speak for Pixies as when I was looking round nurseries The Willow was in the old location, which I disliked and hence I never even went to have a look. My daughter is currently at Pixies and she loves it. I like the fact they have their own outdoor space (which a lot of nurseries round here lack), the rooms are nice and light (I saw plenty of dark nurseries!) and most importantly the staff is really caring. It's a nice and nurturing nursery as opposed to a pushy academic one. They follow the Early Years guidelines etc, but if you're looking for a nursery where your child will definitely be able to read and write fluently before they get to reception, then Pixies probably isn't for you. What I like about it is that they allow each child to develop at their own pace and tailor the activities according to what the child is interested in. Nurseries - like schools - are a very personal thing though, so I recommend going round a few and seeing what you think. Also bring your child along and see what he or she thinks. When I looked round some nurseries, the staff ignored my child, whereas at others they were lovely and welcoming (Pixies was one of those). I think it says a lot about the staff if you observe how they react to a new child. Good luck with your choice!
