haircut at happy faces unhappy mum

Postby saffamum » Wed Jan 26, 2011 3:41 pm

I went in on Saturday to get my 14 month old daughter a haircut and did not have a nice experiance. I find the staff at happy faces totally unprofessional plus for a 5 minute job, find £13.95 an absolute rip-off! The haircut is appaling, totally unshaped and I definately would not go back there.

have anyone had similiar expierances and where else would you receommend for a decent and resonable haircut?

I wasn't that impressed either - the salon is lovely but the staff just don't seem that used to dealing with children.

We now use a lovely lady called Isabelle who comes to our house. The kids love her and are much more relaxed getting their hair done at home.

Send me a message if you'd like her details.

W2K on Bedford Hill are very good and most reasonable pricewise. Much less than £10.00.

I am so surprised!

I love Happy Faces and they have always been wonderful with my children.

I guess they must have been having a bad day.

I also had a bad experience there a while ago, so did my friend. I really recommend Costas and Andy's on Garratt Lane in Earlsfield. They
are fantastic with kids, really patient and actually give a good haircut!

I'm surprised as well. I took my son there for his first haircut and thought they did a fab job. We went on a Thurs morning and there weren't any other children there. Perhaps that makes the difference? Agree that it is a tad expensive though.

I am really surprised at your experience! We have been going there since they opened nearly 2 years ago. I find them very friendly and always so patient with my son, who at best is a little naughty. Prices might seem a bit high but the experience can not be compared to any of the local salons / barbers.. I suppose it depends what one would want to spend. My theory is that if I am happy to treat myself then why should my kids do with the barbers … and let’s not forget that tantrum charges £30 for the same! So, HF best of luck … we are here to support you!!

WOW!!

I am totally shocked at this post and may I just start by saying, this is extremely uncalled for!
We take all six children to Happy Faces and my wife is always so happy with the haircuts and the girls that work there. We have also been to Sally's and if anything that is a rip off for £13.50 (just 45p) less then Happy Faces it was an awful haircut and poor experience in a "salon" the size of a shed.

However if I was you I would call the salon and explain your concern regarding this and see what Happy Faces says to you.

I am sure that they will be more than happy to resolve this matter.

Happy Faces pride ourselves on great customer service and only employ the best stylist suitable for the position and all undertake training before being employed by us.

As the manager of Happy faces I would like to offer my sincere apologies regarding this mater that has been raised on nappyvallynet.com. I would like to invite you back to Happy Faces for a complementary haircut for your children, as I have not been made aware of your upset that this has caused you before.

I take this matter very seriously and I would have been extremely happy if it had been brought to my attention while you was in the store.

I hope you except my offer and we hope to welcome you back to Happy Faces for your child's next haircut.

Please contact me at your convenience on: 0207 228 8151

Kind Regards

store manager

Hi there,

I have been to Happy Faces a few times, yes, it is expensive, but that is our choice. I would quite happily go there just for an outing and for my child to sit in one of the cars, and getting a hair cut is just a bonus (although an expensive one).

I do have to say, that I find the owner quite rude (although I don't think she means to be), she just comes across as quite abrupt and "busy" which she probably is, but on more than one occasion, I have thought to myself that I wish she could be a little friendlier.

I no longer go there, I use a local barber, who charges £3, in and out, no fuss.

Not bashing Happy Faces, but customers opinions are what keeps you in business after all.

Re negative post on Sally's....I have been going to Sally's for a couple of years and she does a great job of my childrens' hair so I would thoroughly recommend her. Not the cheapest, but an excellent cut for both short hair and the most stylish bob on a 2 year old I have ever seen!

Uh-oh!

I am going to be SUPER controversial.

I like Sallys AND Happy Faces.

Do I get a peace prize for liking both?

As a new neighbour to the area Happy Faces is one of the first places I decided to take my daughter. I'm really shocked to find people have had such negative feedback as I left not being able to praise the shop enough. I'm also surprised that for such a wealthy area we live in people would complain about spending £13.95 especially in such a beautiful place.

On another note this website is amazing and extremely helpful, especially for mothers like me' who are new to the area.

Price seems to be the issue here, as it’s common in all posts. If £13.95 is a lot of money for some then surely is better not to visit HF then to go and then begrudge it …
