I would take the side off the cot and convert it into a bed. With the safety guard in place and something soft on the floor in case she falls out it saves the worry of her falling from a greater height and from letting her climbing out of the cot becoming something more than it really is. My own younger daughter was a 'climber' from around a year old and would happily climb up window sills, out of her cot, onto tables, up ladders…. in fact anything she felt like climbing! She didn't fall, she didn't hurt herself, she did no harm to herself or others. I would stay quietly in the background so as not to break her own concentration and to make sure that she was safe in her exploration of a world taller than her field of vision. She was riding a 2 wheeler bicycle unaided and without stabilisers before her third birthday - not that it matters but just to show what a well developed sense of balance she had by then.
Your daughter sounds like an adventurous little explorer… enjoy!
