Can you recommend a good mediator?

Postby Editrix » Wed Mar 04, 2015 3:45 am

My ex partner has agreed to see a mediator to help resolve matters between us about contributions to our child and other related matters. I'm a bit wary of the process and want a skilled and sensitive mediator ? Spoke to one yesterday whose manner was very aggressive and I just wasn't keen. If anyone can recommend someone is be grateful.

Hi, I would recommend Turner & Johnson - based near Wandsworth station http://turnerjohnsonmediation.co.uk/
I found them very thorough and sensitive to our issues

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I am a family solicitor with 23 years family law experience. I live in SW4 and work for a firm based in Charring Cross, we are a group of 7 lawyers, some mediators and all colab trained. Meditation is certainly the way forward for most issues child related, give me a call and we can chat through the various options and people available for you to choose between. My office DD is 0207 518 0245

Would second Turner Johnson. They are both incredibly on the ball on the legalities and possibly more importantly from your perspective have families of their own and really do care and understand the importance of it being a constructive process. Good luck.

Thank you all. I did speak to Turner Johnson and have put them down on a list of three for my ex partner to choose from.

I would recommend Irene Grindell (www.irenegrindellresolutions.co.uk). She is very experienced, thoughtful and sensitive.

Hello there
I hope you have managed to speak to a mediator by now and that you feel reassured. People are sent off to mediate these days with little thought given to what a scary prospect that can be. Sometimes there are clear power imbalances and if you've been a stay-at-home parent whilst your partner has been out in the cut-and-thrust of the 'paid-for' working world, it can feel like you are at a disadvantage (and quite frankly - irrespective of the skill of the mediator - you are).

I am a Family Consultant and help people prepare for mediation. I coach 4 key skills you need in order to make mediation work for you. You can find some info on those skills here: (I really hope its useful and you can use it in your mediation)

Please get in touch if some telephone coaching or a face to face prep session would be of benefit. You may want to consider a parenting plan - there are some templates on the website too.
Good luck.
