We need your help...whats the best takeway...

Postby Annabel (admin) » Sat Apr 18, 2009 7:54 pm

Hi
We need your help. In fact we REALLY need your help.

In these times of "stay-at-home and save money" we want to know which are YOUR favourite take-aways or home-deliveries.

We'll go first!

We love Indian Ocean on Trinity Road for Indian, Gratom Thai for Thai on Battersea Rise or if we're feeling really flush, the good old Bombay Bicycle delivery which is all over Nappy Valley.

What works for you? Please tell us! All you have to do is click on the "Post reply" bubble at the top or bottom of this message and share. The person whose post is best, and I know this is SO subjective, will win something.

I have no idea what you'll win but we'll probably beg the take-away you recommended to give us a prize and then give it to you. Bearing in mind we've been offered some spa treatments, a nice coat and a tree house (yes a tree house) in the last month then I think we can deliver!

Go on - be a devil - click on the post reply button and share. I'm off to order a cobra beer and a tikka masala... :P

My husband and I without a single smidgen of doubt hold THE HOLY COW as the number 1 best take-away in London. They are in Battersea, Balham, Kiburn and now Putney, their food is amazing and we have got to know them very well since our daughter arrived! ;) They even get to know you by your telephone number, so whenever my husband calls up they call him by his name! Impressive stuff.
The food is always cooked fresh to order by a team of chefs immacuately turned out in their chef whites. Complimentary popadoms and mango chutney with every order. They offer delicious side orders - we love the spinach and paneer! In fact, we're working our way through everything on the menu - but the fish curry takes a lot of beating!
If you haven't yet discovered The Holy Cow, you must try it! But as it says on their menu, 'be warned this place is addictive' and it's true, I couldn't go to another Indian take-away now, it wouldn't be the same! :D

So one last word to all those take-away places in the area putting your leaflets through our door - forget it, and save your time, the boys at Holy Cow have got this household covered!

After my wife gave birth, and I mean AFTER (about 3 hours), she really wanted a blue cheese pizza as she hasn't been allowed one whilst pregnant. Pizza Express rattled one up for me as expected but then put a kind note and a ribbon around the box when I went to pick it up. They get my vote!

Best Takeaway - prizes waiting to be won!

Postby Annabel (admin) » Sun Apr 26, 2009 6:53 pm

Hi
Sometimes things just go SO well.

We called one of the take-away restaurants thats been mentioned in this thread. The conversation went along the lines of "We're NappyValleyNet and we are running an informal poll of top takeways in Nappy Valley can we have a prize?"

We were over-the-moon to get the response of...

"Sure - is £50 enough?"

So please keep posting your favorites right here, someone in this list of comments is going to win £50 for a brilliant Nappy Valley takeaway.

That quite made our weekend! :D

Being married to an Italian I can say Firezza pizzas are the best...Garrett Lane is our nearest (SW17) but apparently SW12 postcodes come from a Battersea branch and they can arrive cold.....

Must vote for the lovely peeps at Yumea on Battersea Rise. The food is really tasty, especially our favourites the Chui Yum Prawns or Chui Yum Squid. I don't think they use any MSG (or not much certainly) as my husband throws up at a hint of it. They're friendly, fresh and fast!

Tutto Tucci on St John's hill - gorgeous pizzas and pasta and really friendly lady on the phone. The salads are really good too, the sfizio with goats cheese and parma ham is yummy. and the garlic bread with mozzarella is heaven. They seem to deliver really quickly too. I often order an extra pizza for the kids' tea the next day too - very lazy but they love it!!

me again, sorry must also second the Holy Cow, fabulous food.
The only problem is that you have to order before 7pm on a Friday night in order to eat before 9pm.

Having moved from Wandsworth Town to Earlsfield over the summer, we sorely miss the Thai on Old York Road and Brady's fish bar used to be good, although over the summer was variable.

We have hit on Nazmins on Garratt Lane [we used them the week we moved in] - fabulously tasty Indian food and the delivery service is very prompt! Also, Jade Garden [on Garratt Lane too!]is a good Chinese Takeaway [they also deliver too] - all the old favourites and their Crispy duck and pancakes is very good indeed.

Hope this helps...

Oh I need a good Tahi. I lvoe "OH Boy" on garrat lane but their portions are tiny and so you end up ordering 2 lots of thai green curry per person!

Hi all,
i very much recommend Xiong mao, http://www.xiong-mao.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

what i love about them is that they have excellent quality chinese and thai food. as my husband invariably prefers chinese and myself thai, we've always had to choose and compromise before, now we just order the both in one go, from the same menu! you can order online or by phone, and they are excellent

pizza-wise my vote goes to Basilico.

Bon Appetite!

Highly recommended Mumbai Tadka on East Hill. Its new and the food is exceptional. Like we had in India itself.
