Assaulted on St Johns Hill this morning on way to work

Postby tamandcraig » Tue May 12, 2015 11:05 am

8:00 to 8:10 this morning on the junction of Strath Terrace, St Johns Hill and Plough Road I bumped into the back of a mans shoe with my buggy. I apologised and crossed the road at the lights going towards Clapham Junction station. Half way across the man ran up behind me and kicked me full force into the back of my leg shouting I f'ing deserved it as had hit him with my buggy on purpose. My leg is badly bruised and I was left very shaken. I confronted him but he seemed deranged and no one has stopped to help me, as I had my son with me I started walking away fast. He carried on walking behind me to Clapham Junction station, until I saw police at the station and ran towards them. The police searched for him but couldn't find him. They are concerned as it's assault in broad day light on a woman with a small child. The man is clearly deranged and psychopathic. A report has been filed, photos taken of my leg and I've been given a number to call if I ever see him again. If anyone saw this please can they let me know, there were a lot of people around and cars had stopped at the lights so it must have been witnessed. Police are also going to search through the CCTV. It was busy, cars had stopped at the lights but no one helped. I had a dark blue and white knee length dress, navy cardy, bare legs, flat black pumps and dark brown hair and was pushing a bright red and grey stokke with my 16 month old son in. He's blonde and was wearing a yellow rain mac and green leggings. The man that attacked me was stocky build, 5'10 ish, light to medium grey suit, black shoes, medium brown short hair and heavy Irish accent. He was crossing from Strath Terrace side over st johns hill walking towards CJ station. Thanks

Hi there,

I just wanted to send you virtual hugs. It sounds like a very shaking experience and I'm sorry to hear that no one helped you with this. I hope they find him.

Best,

Oh gosh, I am so sorry to hear about this awful and traumatic experience that you had. No one should have to experience that and especially not when your with a child. I really hope they catch him.

Oh my god. How are you?
I have been assaulted 3 years ago in the costa coffee on st john rd by an equally aggressive deranged man and what helped me was to write the all event down in full details. So i hope it helped a bit that you wrote it down.

I just cannot believe no stopped to help you.

I hope you ll never cross his path again.

Sx

Thank you for the replies, it was pretty upsetting. I just can't believe someone would do that to another person.

Sorry to hear of that dreadful attack
I work on that junction of Plough Road and St John's Hill but I am afraid I didn't see anything. We don't have external CCTV on the office.
I am sure this is a one off but if you ever have any need to get help/refuge our office is open from 8.00am Mon to Fri. I will let all the staff know.

Bells Commercial
138 Plough Road
London SW11 2AA
(next to the council garden space)

Bikram Yoga are open at that time too and I am sure they would help
(next to The Plough)

That is so worrying I'm so sorry for you I sincerely hope you recover but well done for being brave. Deranged or not this should not have happened!

I'm so sorry this happened and it's truly dreadful someone would react like this to an accidental bump - completely unacceptable and uncivilised behaviour. Maybe the police can catch some details on cctv as evidence and do something about it. My thoughts are with you and bub and I hope your leg is on the mend.

So sorry (and quite shocked) to hear about this. If there's anything we can do to help please let us know. Like Ballantine said, we are open early in the mornings so, though of course hopefully nothing like this would ever happen again, but you can feel free to come in to the studio if you ever need assistance. Hope that you are feeling better and sending you and your little one lots of positive energy. xx

Am a tad nervous this morning. The police have found cctv footage of most of the incident and have a good image of his face which they're now circulating with the view of attempting to find and arrest him today. Good news I know but I feel quite sick!
