I finally went to the Waxing Specialist (I know, I am not the fastest one...). I had a great experience, as painless as waxing can be , all while supporting a local independant business. Thank you so much for the recommendation

I also went to the waxing specialist on the back of this thread and Marta was amazing. I've been having waxing for years and this was the most professional by far. The lycon wax really does make a difference. I thought I had to just out up with excruciating waxing but not anymore!

Just wanted to add that I went to Waxing Specialist on the back of the recommendations here and I would like to echo everyone else's comments, Marta was really excellent! I wouldn't go so far as to say it was painless (or maybe I am just a wuss), but the whole experience - ease of booking, atmosphere in salon, professionalism, products used, value etc - was all really commendable and would not hesitate to recommend!

Last time I went, Marta said it would be ok to bring my babies in the pram. I would confirm it when making the booking though just to be sure.

I am afraid there are no towels or disposable pants...
I was surprised the first time I have to admit, in other places I used to get a towel, but really even with a towel you are completely exposed to the therapist. Anyway, this is what I told myself the first time and once you start the wax you forget about it.

At the Waxing specialist many ladies remove everything but you can leave on a thong of your own. Just have one that you will use for waxing.
I guess it also depends on what type of wax that you would like.
They will make you feel very comfortable with whatever you would like to go with.

PS Marta is 100% Ok with babies and toddlers in the room.
I'm not sure about the other therapists there.

Hi, it's Marta here. Thank you for all the lovely comments about Waxing Specialist. I really love my job.

All our therapists are happy for babies and toddlers to join you within the treatment rooms. For those of you with furry friends, as much as we love pets, i'm afraid we can't have them within the salon.

Just to reassure you, if you have a basic bikini line there is no need to remove underwear. If you fancy a more intimate wax (Brazilian or Hollywood) we would prefer you not to wear any pants. I will need a little bit of your trust but in no time you will feel comfortable. I am well know for great distraction techniques and I will definitely make you laugh.

For all pregnant ladies who come to me at the later stages of their pregnancy (35 to 38 weeks) please be aware that if I have never waxed you before; or you have never had a wax; or have been shaving during your pregnancy for your comfort and safety your treatment may be adjusted to something more suitable e.g changing a Hollywood to a extended bikini.

Strip on Fulham Road. I'm not into waxing. And it never hurts (much). And the aestheticians are very nice.
