Re: Friends for my new au pair

Why doesn't she connect with some fellow Italians first in similar situations whilst she finds her feet. There is wwww.italiansinlondon.co.uk or on Facebook: ItaliansofLondon

I remember being in France on work experience, it's nice to make local friends which help with language and learning, but the safety net of knowing a few Brits in Paris to do things with really helped.

Hi
There were a few discussions about aupairs so I've pulled them all together.

I'll mention this in the weekly email and lets see if we can get a get together together.

If that makes sense!

Hi
If we have enough interest I can book a space and "semi organise" it.

I"m sure NappyValleyNet could spring to a couple of bottles of Chabis (assuming everyone is over 18!).

:)

We have an au-pair starting on Sept 5th, from Munich, and she doesn't know a single person in London as yet! Keen to make sure she doesn't feel isolated and would like to help her build a network. We live between Clapham Junction and Wandsworth Town so if there's an au-pair meet up please sign us up! Thanks!! :D

My German au pair, who arrived recently, would like to meet other girls. Interested if you organise something or happy to give her few email addresses.
Thanks!

Hi All
Thanks for all the replies.

Just keep adding the names to this post and then we can organise something when we have enough!

:-)

What lovely employers you all are. Your au pairs are really lucky - no doubt all concerned will be happier because of it.

Just a idea for to consider:lots of employers send their au pairs to our Cooking for Children cookery course so that they can make some friends (http://www.thecookhousebattersea.com). It's a really convivial and relaxed environment and the
sweet au pairs get some intensive training for feeding their charges as well. All in group of no more than 8. Hope you like the sound of it.

Here's a bit of feedback:
"Nathalie LOVED the course and is very inspired to try lots of new meals for my demanding children.  So thank you very much indeed."  Liz Corrado
“I have never seen Olivia so fired up as she was following her course with you last week! She has already put some of her newly acquired skills to use and I can’t tell you how grateful I am to you for such a dramatic turnaround.  THANK YOU!" Lizzie

We have a French au pair arriving in mid July and she will be on her own for a couple of weeks in August so I am really keen to help her meet some other au pairs in the area. Please keep me posted!

Hello There,

Lovely this!

We have a French aupair and yes, she will like to meet new people around.
We live in Brixton and she is off Wed and Thurs.

Thx Annabel for the initiative ;)

Hi

We live BTC and have a new French au pair arriving at the start of September. Her English isn't great at present so I think it would initially be great for her to meet any French au pairs out there to help her settle in.

Also I am sure she would love to meet lots of other au pairs from everywhere else!

Thanks
