Restaurant for 12 people CJ or Balham - Recommendations pls!

Hi everyone!

It's my husband's birthday soon and I wanted to book a restaurant in Clapham Junction for the 12 of us. I emailed Powder Keg who told me they were not taking bookings for more than 8 people! Surprising to see people turning down business, but hey!

Can anyone recommend a restaurant with a chilled atmosphere that would accommodate our request please? We do like ribs so I was also considering Cattle Grid in Balham. A private room would be even better but we're not fussy.

Any suggestions welcome! Thanks!

Gazette in Battersea have a lovely private room . But even the one in Balham has a nice table at the back for large groups.
Chez Bruce also, and think there is a minimum spend of 500 which is easily done with ten of you. They have a reasonable three courses for 50 quid menu.
Agree the ribs at cattle gros are awesome and that's much more my kind of food! Best burgers too...

Highly recommend Lambert's. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they got the timing just right (not easy when you have a large group) and the food is really good. I don't think they have a private room - worth asking though. We were fairly private towards the back of the restaurant. A bit more expensive than some, but worth going for if it suits your budget.

I would definitely recommend Bodean's in Balham at 225 Balham High Rd, London, SW17 7BG. It has a range of dining spaces outside and in, including a banqueting table that can comfortably seat 12. Its BBQ ribs, pulled pork and steaks are second to none, the cocktails are amazing, the craft ales and a tremendous array of bourbons at the bar add up to bloke heaven, and on Thursday evenings there is even great live music at no extra charge. The service is efficient and friendly, and the value is pretty hard to beat. I go every week!

Hello,

I went to 2 parties at Gazette in Balham. We were at the back of the room which is slightly seperated. One was standing and the other sitted. We also manage to show a short video of our friend we had made for the occasion on their screen. The food was delicious and the service impeccable.
