Private neurosurgeon?

Postby MTC » Wed Jul 08, 2015 3:35 pm

Hello - does anyone have recommendations for a private neurosurgeon? This would be for me and not for my baby. Thank you!

Hi there,
I can recommend David Peterson. He operated on my husband a few years ago. I'd describe him as very cool & calm whilst being very reassuring, and uber professional.

He operates out of Charing Cross hospital and then privately at the Cromwell and specialises in tumours of the nervous system.

Hope this is of use, and more importantly hope you're ok.

I can highly recommend Mr Banghoo, he is fantastic and if it weren't for him I would have most probably been in a wheel chair today. Amazing guy

I suggest you call Paul Montgomery who is Medical Director at the Cromwell and ask for a recommendation based on your specific situation. You can PM me for his direct contact details.

Hello
I think that it depends on the surgery required. I had to have emergency surgery after I had my baby a few years ago. I was transferred to Charing Cross hospital initially under Mr Peterson (per the previous post) and then Mr Nair as I had to have more invasive surgery. Mr Nair was absolutely fantastic - the surgery that I had is not without its risks and I have made a full recovery. My baby was very nearly called Ramesh after him ! I have also heard good things about Mr Peterson. I had my surgery privately but as it was emergency surgery - the care was identical to the NHS care. I was only able to take advantage of the private room for a few days after I left ICU.

I would highly recommend Simon Stapleton -who works in St georges and Parkside. I originally saw via the NHS and then transferred to his private practice.
