Fatherof6 why do you feel this post is 'extremely uncalled' for?? If someone has had a bad experience they have every right to post about it and make their feelings known.

Saffamum I also got a similar response when I posted about my bad experience a while ago, seems HF has a few friends on here but good on you for posting about it.

I don't think anyone is saying it's outrageously expensive but when you get bad service on top of that it is! The Barber I took my Son too was £8 for a great quick haircut with no silly gimmicks and taught him to sit in a chair and get his hair cut on his own.

YES 100% if you have had a bad experience you should talk about it...

The person you should be “talking” complaining to is the business. NOT gossip about it on a web site and try to affect their business. That is very rude!!

I hope people dismiss your silly comments and support them.

As for the “friends” comments they sure do I have had a look at there twitter and facebook and they seem to have more friends then on nappyvally.

What a ridiculous thing to say! It's great forums like this one that keeps people informed of good and bad service from local businesses, it's not intended to discredit their business although I know HF does log in here and it's only a good thing that they see these comments! If you have read any other threads there are plenty of discussions about people being unhappy with the service they've received at restaurants or travel agents etc so don't feel like we are targeting one business.

To say my comments are silly and people should ignore them because you don't agree with them is laughable. As for you last sentence, from what I can make out you are trying to say they have more friends than me on NVN? Lol grow up.

Just for the record, I have recommended HF in numerous threads for their parties as I have heard good reviews from them. I just wouldn't recommend them for a haircut.

We would like to thank everyone for both positive and negative feedback, with out this we would not be able to grow.

We love all of our customers and we aim to give 110% in everything that we do. We would also like to thank all of our customers for supporting our fab salon and party venue. Without you we would not be the success we are today. :D

However for those that were unhappy with either the service or the haircut with us i would love to speak with you directly as it is my main priority to rectify all of these issues and prevent them from occurring to anyone else that visits us in the future.

I have taking all comments on board and have mentioned it in our morning meeting to all party dolls and stylists.

Thank you nappyvally for all your comments

The Happy Faces team xxx :D

Thanks everyone for your comments. I will give the recommendations a test run to see how they compare.

It is nice to see that comments have been taken onboard by the store manager, which means a lot. shows that you do care what people think and I hope that you take the comments in this post onboard..

I take my children to happy faces , mainly for the cars and DVD player so they sit still whilst having their haircut. the staff do blow hot and cold in the charm stakes but I can deal with that. What does irritate me though when we are paying for the experience is that it is filthy. I cannot sit down or put anything down as the seats, stools and even the window sills and inside the cars are covered in hair. I have been there regularly over the last two years and never once seen anyone sweep up or clear the hair as one child leaves and another gets in. .This does annoy me,.

Dear saffamum,

We are so happy that you decided to take us up on the offer and come back to the salon. I am thrilled that you are now happy with the haircut, experience and service.

Once again I am extremely sorry about your first experience and I hope to welcome you back to the salon with your little princess very soon. :D

Kind Regards

Donna

I think it's a bit mean to write a scathing report on here after just one bad experience. I understand that this site is for sharing info but Happy Faces seems to be a small independent enterprise and a bad review based upon one visit written on here could have a terrible effect on their business.

I would have thought the first port of call would be to take it up with the salon if you weren't happy with the cut. The price is irrelevant because it's clearly displayed and you choose to go in there. I hope the salon manage to contact you through this site and rectify the cut you are unhappy about. I then hope you come back and tell us about their customer service and second cut.

I used to love Happy Faces but over time found the haircuts deteriorated and it began to be a real chore going there - unfriendly and strangely detached hairdressers who clearly had never worked with kids doing embarrassingly bad haircuts. We now go to Sally's and yes it's small but she's brilliant.

Scooby, you might want to check out the other thread about other unhappy Customers at Happy Faces before you dismiss this thread as one person who wasn't happy. Plus plenty of people agreed with the OP.

It's ridiculous to say that we can't write a bad review because the business is local and independent. As it turns out the OP went back and was far treated better as a result of this post, so that can only be a good thing.

Moops, I have seen the other thread but this is a seperate thread and therefore i chose to answer this thread. Perhaps the OP should have added her view to that thread. But she didn't so I choose to reply on the basis of what is on THIS thread.
I am not trying to be hostile at all but in my post I didn't say people shouldn't write a bad review because the business is local and independent. I actually said they should immediately start up a thread based upon ONE visit especially if they had not tried to sort things out with the business first. I said that writing a review based upon one visit could damage a business that was small and independent. There have been nearly 1,000 views on this thread (albeit some people more than once) I think that is a disproportionate amount of negative feedback for ONE bad experience.

I have no interest in Happy faces, I take my children somewhere else so i am certainly not a friend of HF.

There is a counter argument to people saying the positive reviews are 'friends' of HF which is the negatives are friends of local competitors. I don't believe either to be true.

I see your point about talking to the business but just wanted to add that a bad review doesn't always result in bad publicity. I took my daughter to HF after I read the initial negative review but before OP resolved her concerns as I was impressed by the salon's response on the thread. I thought it was professional and well thought through.

Very happy with the cut, (DD's hair is curly and still growing out plus is difficult to style since she won't let me put any barrettes or hair bands in it) and pleased to hear OP is also happy with the end result. So I think good results for the business all round. Kudos to the OP for giving us the positive update too.

In reply to "Scooby" very well said :D I totally agree with you 100% I find it quite disturbing that people wish to gossip behind the back of HF and are not grown up enough to just contact the salon and discuss the issue. It’s quite funny that they rather sit on a computer and discuss it with strangers

To "mungomuffit" at the end of the day not everyone can afford the same things in life so you just do what you can. I find it hard to believe that under any training a stylist can do miracle and predict the movement and mood change of a child during a haircut to be honest I would not do it if you paid me a million its hard work. Kids have less hair yes but the work is MUCH HARDER!! And I can see that when I take mine to have a haircut.

Remember your not just paying for the haircut you are paying for the beautiful place you are in, the cars, the screens, the DVD’s, the lollipop, the murals ecccc. I am sure the hand painted murals and sit in cars set them back more then a bit AFTER ALL TANTRUM CHARGE £30.00 for a haircut at HF you pay less then half price of that. :D

To “HF” you can’t make everyone happy and to me it seems that more people are happy then not so just keep up the good work we are happy to support your beautiful salon and fab haircuts.

My last words on this matter are IF YOU CAN’T AFFORD IT DON’T GO THERE AND THEN BEG FOR YOUR MONEY BACK ON THIS SITE.
