Desperately seeking sleep consultant/night nanny!!

Postby Giggles » Tue Jul 28, 2015 2:01 pm

I'm asking on behalf of a friend of mine. First time mummy to a 6 month old boy in Chislehurst.
Her boy wakes up every half hour through out the night screaming. She is exhausted and her marriage is suffering and for her sanity needs sleep!
She is looking for a sleep consultant that comes to the house and physically sees what the issue is- or a sleep nanny so she can get enough sleep to take a fresh look at what the issue is.
She is very emotional and desperate and is too tired to even start googling people/companies.

Does anyone have someone they can recommend? Price in no issue here at all.

Thanx so much.

Hi Giggles.

Sorry to hear your friend is having such a hard time. I hope you don't mind me posting but I saw your post and knew straight away that I would be able to help - its a very common problem that I deal a lot with. Feel free to give her my details - I work locally as a Sleep Consultant but do travel if necessary. I would work with her to understand the needs, make a plan that fits her family lifestyle and support her through the process.

There are several recommendations for my work on this site so do have a search - whatever she choses, I wish her all the best as i know first hand how hard Sleep deprivation can be.

I would 100% recommend Carol Mae Grassick. Her website is www.carolmaeconsulting.co.uk and her number is 07859 393 232. We found her through NVNet recommendations when our son was a poor sleeper at a similar age and she solved everything within 24 hours. It was remarkable. Worth every penny. She's based in Kent so not too far from your friend and can do home visits as well as pre and post visit phone/email support.

Thank you ladies. I have passed on both your information and she is very grateful.
She will probably contact both to get a feel for who she likes.

From personal experience, I can recommend Mandy at the Millpond Sleep Clinic.. although I should say she doesn't come to the house (You keep a sleep diary and then she gives you advice on the phones, give you a plan to follow, has follow on phone calls & emails etc.) She has great knowledge of the science behind sleep etc and explains it all.

Hi there,

Gosh, I do feel sorry for your friend - Having been there myself and feeling like I was nearly going crazy from the lack of sleep and a constantly crying baby, my saving grace was the amazing Heidi who has reached out to you in an earlier reply.

I just wanted to recommend her and also say that she has has helped all of my friends that have also seen her. She works miracles!

Good luck to your friend :)

Hi, also feeling for your friend. Looks like you have lots of great recommendations for sleep consultants, but might it also be worth consulting a doctor? Discomfort when lying down in bed might be indicative of reflux, so might be worth ruling that out too? Wishing her the best of luck getting it sorted x
