Phil and Teds Vibe 3

Postby Blakeys mum » Mon Feb 28, 2011 8:18 pm

Hi there
We recently bought this pram and I'm really disappointed! Finding it really hard to steer and heavy - the front wheel turns sporadically and its difficult to manouver over curbs around corners etc. Has anyone else found this? Is there something I should or should not be doing? For an expensive piece of kit I would definitely expect better performance!
Thanks

I was looking at the Vibe in Peter Jones yesterday as am debating between the Vibe and the Explorer. (According to web info the Vibe is 2kg lighter than the Explorer - though neither are that light). We had a few probs steering the Vibe at first but then the assistant came and unlocked the front wheel fully so that it rotated properly and it then turned on a sixpence. Silly question, but have you checked it's not just that?
Will be interested to hear how you get on. Good luck.

We've had a vibe for about a year and a half now and we're quite happy with it. It is big but how else to get two little ones around?
I did find it very heavy and hard to steer when I had it in the 'older kid on top/baby in the bottom' configuration, I think because there was just so much weight up so high but once the older one went in the bottom it was fine.
Do you know anyone else with a vibe? Perhaps you could quickly try theirs just to make sure it handles the same as yours and your one isn't faulty somehow.

The Vibe is without a doubt the worst buggy I have ever owned. So heavy and hard to steer and my baby just hated being in the cocoon/pram bit. After a month or so I gave up and got a nipper 360 instead - absolute heaven to push by comparison.

I have the brand new explorer and while it is heavy (especially with two toddlers), find it easy to manouver and handle and I'm pregnant. I used to nanny another child my son's age (16 months) and they were both very happy in it. Now we are getting ready to use it for our toddler and new arrival. They are all a bit of a nightmare, but the explorer is so easy to use and folds so small. Good luck with the Vibe!

I had a problem with my Vibe too, I was first sent some lubricant to put on the front wheel but it was still not right. It was not until I compared my vibe to another that I saw my front wheel was far more bent than theirs. I took a photo, sent it to the shop I brought it from and got a new wheel, and now it works perfectly - although heavy with 2!
