Serious concerned after the stabbing incidents at two local state secondary schools in the past week.

I wasn't surprised to see that one of the schools involved was Southfields Community College. Apart from the school's appalling academic performance for so many years, the headmistress has previously made incredibly complacent comments about knives not being an issue at the school. https://www.tes.com/article.aspx?storycode=2570993
This woman was on £226,000 a year five years ago. Rewards for failure.

That poor boy!

I would ring the school on Monday and report what you saw so perhaps they can mention in it an assembly for the boy who was chased to come forward, as all too often they stay quiet for fear of repercussions and live in constant fear when arriving to/leaving school.

What on earth is happening to tackle and stop these gangs attacking children at school?

That poor lad. I hope he's ok.

School used to be a place to feel safe and secure, what's happened?

Maybe the police need to go 'under cover' if they aren't already. Clearly standing at the school gates is only a limited deterrent.

Good on you, Mungomuffet.

Let's hope they tackle this head on and take it very seriously, he could have been knocked over which would have been tragic for his family and of course for you and your family(even though it wasn't your fault the guilt would be unbearable), this can't go on without something happening.

Thank you for posting this. I've emailed the school too as we live very close by. No child should have to be in this situation.

Guys in the future when you see ppl whom you think may not be "to any good" plz do report it the police immidiately. I have done so a couple times and, beside being taken very seriously, both time was thanked for calling and letting them know what I had witnessed. It just good for our community and at the end of the day we all want our children to grow up in safe communities :)
