Great Nursery needed! Post Reply

Hello Mums

I am looking at sending my 21 month old Son to nursery 1 or 2 mornings a week, this will be his first taste of childcare so we are taking baby steps so to speak!

We live in Earlsfield and I've looked at Sticky Fingers on Garratt Lane so far and wasn't impressed. I've heard good reviews but I wouldn't like to send my Son there, it seemed small, messy, disorganised and I didn't really like the staff. Am I missing something or am I just being unrealistic and fussy?

Any recommendations would be appreciated!

I've heard that Sticky Fingers is aptly named...... if you can overlook the messiness and not spotlessly clean areas, it is a good and popular nursery.

Some of my neighbours use 'Wee Ones' and 'Teddies' and are happy with those.

Do go and check them out for yourself, so you can see where your child will be, and get a feel for the nurseries.

I know it is a bit further away but try Blundells Day Nursery in Battersea...you have to do a minimum of 3 sessions per week but it is lovely so worth a look

Hi! I would recommend Little Bunnies on Wayneflete Street in St Andrew's Church Hall. It is not really plush looking like some of the far more expensive nurseries. However my son went there and loved it. He is seven now so it was a few years ago but I am pretty sure it is under the same management - there are two ladies who worked together in childcare for years and then set up together. The other staff mostly stayed long term as well. They were all really friendly and really cared about the children. My son went to three nurseries in total due to the first one closing and then we moved, and I felt very bad about him moving again but he really liked Little Bunnies and it was easily the best of the three. Because it is small, the children can get to know each other well. We looked at Buffer Bear as well and I thought that seemed lovely but I just preferred the more intimate setting of Little Bunnies - plus it saved me £300 a month Good luck in your search - personally I would suggest visiting every nursery you can find and just getting the feel of them.

I actually called their nursery a few weeks ago to send them some details about NappyValleyNet but they wouldn't give me an email address. Its good to have something we can tell our users about - it was a gap in our knowledge!

Thanks for the reply, I went past Little Bunnies today as it is just around the corner from me but they wouldn't let me in without an appointment, didn't have a prospectus and from what I gather they don't have a website. Will let you know how it goes when I go next week.
