ADVICE ON NEW KITCHEN

Postby applemum » Mon Feb 01, 2016 9:59 am

We are looking to completely replace our kitchen. I'm not really a shaker/traditional design type person so I guess we are looking for something modern. German style/handle-less? It seems to be a minefield. Lots of people talk about getting a good cabinetmaker to make theirs but I am yet to find one. We have a builder who can install.

Does anyone have any recommendations of a reasonable priced modern kitchen manuf/supplier and a good cabinet maker (I need some separate shelving built elsewhere in the house in any case)?

thanks so much.

Try Iain Lowe at http://www.iainlowedesign.co.uk - he did our kitchen and we are very happy with it. He's really easy to work with and has some good ideas on design etc. Happy to discuss further if you wish.

We've got a Rational kitchen (German brand, contemporary style) and are very happy with it. There's a small showroom on Abbeville Road (Eclectic Interiors). I'm not sure though if you can get the kitchen without having it installed by them?

Hi Applemum!

There is this great company in Clapham Common that supplies and designs kitchens - Lifestyle Design and Build. They are the supplier of NOLTE and Hacker kitches so the quality is great. The good thing about them is that they have their own designer and building team so they can do everything for you.

Their website: www.lifestylebyasq.co.uk or you can give them a call at 02077203082.

I hope it helps!

hello:

i am a commercial interior designer working primarily within the uk food industry, designing kitchens for professional chefs. when specifying the units, i always go to laurence pidgeon on fulham road, as i use hacker products a lot.

i also had laurence do the kitchen in my house, which is frequently used for cooking classes, demos, and filming. ten years on it is still looking fabulous.

Hi applemum!

I recently finished a kitchen revamp with a company called Ocean Home Designs in Earlsfield, it was German Handleless and they did a remarkable job! Strongly advise them if you are looking for quality :D

Good luck with the search - I know how draining it can be!

We love our now year-old bespoke kitchen. We went to Simon Benjamin Furniture in Sussex and couldn't be happier. My mother-in-law also has a kitchen from them as well which is beautiful too. http://www.simonbenjamin.co.uk

We heard about second nature kitchens - which are lovely- and then went to one of their approved suppliers. This proved to be a very cost effective route and we were very happy with the kitchen designer/ supplier we used. VQS in Staines. A bit of a hike out but had absolutely no problems and the kitchen is great. We intend to use them again on the kitchen in our new house.
