Well done Wandsworth for keeping the cost cutting going. This is why we have the lowest council tax in the country, whilst also having a very well run council - something Lambeth could do well from learning from

Obviously councils are a taxpayer funded organisations and need to move with the digital times, something Wandsworth seems do well at. Maybe there will be future consolidation with other London boroughs that will save even more money for the tax payer.

While I think that local authorities appear to be amongst the most inefficient organisations on the planet, what Wandsworth Council seems to specialise in is a gradual reduction in services (and/or contracting-out services) and accountability, rather than efficiency. Try getting them to actually do anything!

Anyway, back to the subject in hand: 3,500 people being dismissed and re-engaged… can anyone say TUPE?
