Waxed Floors Battersea Rise

Postby ordinarygirl09 » Mon Jun 09, 2014 10:30 pm

Hi,

Wondered if anyone had used this firm to fit a new floor or sand existing floors..?

Their flooring looks lovely but would really want to go on a recommendation.

Thank you

Waxed Floors put down our wooden floor three years ago. We were very impressed with them. The fitting guy was very professional and worked solidly for three days until it was done. We asked them to come back and fill in some very small gaps that we noticed, and they did so straight away with no quibbling.

The floor is wearing well and we haven't had to go back to them on anything, so can't really comment on the after service beyond that.

If you send me a PM, I can send you a picture of the floor if it helps.

Any other wooden floor company recommendations welcome? I need to have our hallway sanded, treated and brought back to life!

We've used waxed floors and I would totally recommend them. They're really friendly and our floor looks superb.

Also a few years after laying our new wooden floor we had some building work done to our house, and the floor was badly damaged(don't get me started about our builders!!). However, waxed floors rectified all the damage for what I thought was a really good price, and the floor looked brand new again :-)

Williamgardiner ... We need to chat. Historic floorboards  ... Makes the hallway sound so grand! They are old solid wood, but you can't see the floorboard for buggies... 4 of them, but that's a story for another thread. Anyway back to the floor. They have been sanded about 3 yrs ago already and a few coatings of something (?) put down. Maybe it's too late !?! Also looking at some engineered boards upstairs where the surface coating has come off. Not sure what is best here?

HI there, I viewed a house to buy around 3 years ago and they had amazing flooring. I didn't buy the house but asked them where they got their flooring. They were from Waxed floors and raved about how good they were.
I subsequently bought a different house but got my flooring from there and they really are very well wearing and lovely. Not the cheapest, but I'm pleased and I'd use them again.

Their floors are high quality and undoubtedly beautiful, but I had such a bad experience in the store with a snooty receptionist we decided to rule them out, as in my experience if a supplier is unengaged before you even sign a contract, any problems further down the line are going to be painful to solve.

Hopefully this was just an unlucky experience as normally I'm a fan of using local businesses

Waxed Floors sanded some engineered oak floorboards in my house this week and they will be lye treating and oiling them in a few weeks' time. I've been really pleased with their service so far, Christof has spent loads of time on the phone with me discussing the project (it's part of a kitchen renovation so there were a few complications) and the sanding guys were great, very helpful and moved a load of boxes/appliances out into the garden and back again, put protector on the floor and tidied up. The floor itself looks like new. They're not cheap but with this sort of thing you get what you pay for (I used a much cheaper outfit a few years ago and regretted it).

SW18er That is a shame about your experience. As others have mentioned Christof, the owner is a class act and incredibly knowledgable about flooring. We have used this company twice in the last 8 years for two different properties and always had exceptional service and end results. During the long process each time we have spoken to the Other people working there and they were always super friendly and helpful. It is a local family business so maybe the cranky reception is new and not working out, haha. Feel free to pm me anyone and I can attempt at sending you pics of our floors.
