I see your tag proclaims "I'm a cowboy." So no anxiety of influence about the United States at all, I see. You guys are crazy.

Please, Hollamumma, enough

You are coming across so badly with each and every post, and have blown something so, so small totally out of proportion with the stated aim of destroying this business.

I say this in the nicest possible way. Do you have an outlet or someone to talk to in real life about the stresses you seem to be under? You don't seem very happy to be this country, and seem incredibly angry, so perhaps finding someone you can talk to would be a better outlet for your frustrations and unhappiness than an Internet message board.

Some people are crazy and funny that way. You guys are crazy and mean. Seriously. It's a little weird watching you all seethe. I never raised my voice to the server at Tamra. I've spent most of the day laughing. But I'm really glad I don't have to stay in this place. Seriously. I'll never forget watching a lady with a fistful of diamonds all the size of golf balls, drop her change pound by pound into her little purse. Coin after coin. Wow. Like much else, this will be one of the images that returns as if from a bad dream when I wake up one day at home.

That's a false equivalence and I think you know it. Apples and oranges. Or rather no apples! God this is dumb. I swear it's like watching a nuclear detonation in a fish tank. Whatever. I'm done.

I haven't seen Beata since Saturday, but I don't recall her saying you raised your voice.

Again, there was apple in the porridge. You were offered more on the side. You declined. We added more into a fresh bowl, but you had left before it was served. This we have on CCTV, which we reviewed after my initial response, as we forgot we even had it. We've not had reason to before now.

Reviewing the CCTV, neither you or Beata raised arms or gesticulated in the air. I have already conceded that our staff cannot be expected to remember these things with forensic detail.

Beata, by the way, is perfectly happy today. She doesn't consider me a racist, which is nice of her. She's nice like that.

She is also our manager, not a "server". Our review of the CCTV also allowed us to see her magnificent work rate. But then, the Poles are very industrious workers, aren't they. Oops, there I go again with the casual racism...

I think you like to use all sorts of terms you don't really understand, there is no logical fallacy here.

Your view of your own behavior differs markedly from that of others, this can't be argued even in the abstract, so the observation that you lack self awareness is entirely logically consistent. Therefore even if you disagree and consider it wrong in fact, it is not a false equivalence nor could it be.

anyway, go have a lie down and perhaps consider counting sheep or steps in a plan - 12 is a good number don't you think? ;)

Wow. just wow. Gobsmacked at this thread.

Will be stopping at this cafe for coffee when on Northcote Road as the owner's response is unfailingly professional. I think I would have struggled to keep my cool like he did :)

Happened to walk past Tamra and stopped by for a coffee. Rob the (very polite) owner was there, and we had a good laugh about the absurdity of it all.

Let's hope the Daily Mail picks this up...

I can't believe I've never had apple and pecan porridge, divine and I can't wait to try it this week.

Rob, that is one of the most balanced reposnses to a complaint I've ever read, compassionate and understanding while being pragmatic and conscious of your duty of care to your employee. Bravo!

You have another new customer here.

Unless this is a clever ploy by cafe Tamra to increase their social media presence. Create some crazy customer in order to gather local support  . If it is, hats off to Rob again, he's got one hell of an imagination to come up with all of that!

OP

You might want to take a breath and go back and read your post of 16th October on a different thread...

"Moreover, this is a local business that doesn't deserve bad word of mouth simply because you've decided they deserve it because you had a bad time."

Your words.

The only thing as extraordinary as this thread is a recent post by the very same poster:

"Moreover, this is a local business that doesn't deserve bad word of mouth simply because you've decided they deserve it because you had a bad time... You may have had a bad experience. But it strikes me as laughably high-handed to declare the topic closed simply because you've accomplished the online equivalent of egging their door. You raised some serious accusations, about child safety, you called out people by name, and you suggested - inanely - that a family-run business is a priori "unprofessional." I can point you to a dozen articles in the "Economist" describing the professional achievements of family-run concerns, but the point is, that is exactly what makes Northcote House unique and precious. It is a family business, and from what I can tell, they've done everything possible to address your concerns. They didn't opt to exploit your public shaming to make some CYA-inspired boilerplate PR release, they actually reached out to you (as you admit) directly and privately. What I suspect they did not do, is succumb to public blackmail by caving and offering you a space in exchange for your holding fire. On both counts, they get my kudos."

Yes, the same person made the above post and this thread. Baffled? I am!
