Do you know the reason for the extra class at Belleville and will there be an extra class for future admissions too? Thanks

We are the wrong end of our road for Honeywell and Belleville and got offered Trinity St Mary's CofE, a school we had not applied for and which we will not accept as we are very secular in our views.

We were offered a place at Alderbrook - our 2nd choice but really pleased as it is a school on the up and we were very impressed when we went to see it. I wasn't aware that they were putting in an extra class this year. Can I ask where you found out this information and if you know how they will be managing this in the space they have. Are they re-locating the nursery?

Hi, I'm an Alderbrook parent and the decision regarding the extra reception class was communicated to us last week. I don't know details about the plans regarding space allocation but I wouldn't worry too much. The head teacher and her team are great so I am sure they have a good plan to accommodate more students. It's a great school. Congratulations on your place!

I know someone who got Honeywell and they're 222m straight line.

Honeywell for us, no sibling. We're around 140 something metres I believe.

We got high view but then it was expected as we live opposite!
Have a number of mummy friends with kids in pre school or reception who are very happy so we are pleased as school is clearly on the up

Not sure yet how Belleville have managed to find room at webbs for an extra 30 kids. It was in last weeks newsletter and most people thought it it was a typo as it only said "this September there will be 120 reception kids at webbs and 30 at meteor". Further investigation has confirmed this is correct but it won't be happening every year to answer your question, still trying to find out more from the head.
Just wanted to say in 2014 when my first son got a place in July at Belleville it was a heavy sibling year so would be interesting to know how many siblings there are this year - the council can tell you this. I think the catchment extended past 400m last year, so with the extra 30 children it may turn out more this year.

Could I pls just ask which website you use to calculate distance from school in metres ? Is there one that the council recognise as valid ? Thanks !

I think the reason there is now a fifth (!) class at Belleville is because the 2009 bulge class who didn't move to meteor are leaving a spare classroom. Guess if Belleville is full that means 660 on main site, 210 on meteor plus the nursery (main site) - over 900 pupils. I'd just like the KS1 kids to do football and rugby after school.

I note that the bulge class at Belleville will negatively impact the chances of non-sibling children getting a place in 2018 and 2019. This always happens when there are bulge classes, although its impact may not be so high at Belleville where the bulge class only amounts to a 25% increase on the usual admission number and not, say the 50% increase that a bulge class amounts to in a school that usually admits 60 per year. The reason the impact is in 2018 and 2019 is that a gap of two or three school years between siblings is what is most common, so it is on those years that the siblings of those in the bulge class will be applying and getting priority over non-siblings even though the number of places is back down to 120. A warning to anyone reading this who might be affected.
