Moths!!

Postby bonnybaby » Mon Jun 06, 2016 2:36 pm

Can anyone give me some advice as I am being driven crazy by carpet moths! I have had a quote from Rentokil to treat the carpets but wondered if anyone has used any other companies and would you recommend them? Did the treatment work and was there any guarantee?

I don't think you will get a guarantee with any of the pest control companies
Most will return and respray within a limited time if moths reappear - iirc 1 month??

I have used both Cleankill & Beaver Pest Control - happy to recommend either

I am in the same boat. Rentokil quoted me nearly £1000 for 4x sprays 1 month apart with a 6 month warranty. Beaver Pest Control £200 for 2 sprays 2 weeks apart with a 1 month warranty. We just had a second spray with Beaver pest but i am still seeing a few months. I will ask them to come again during the warranty period but if we end up using them 4 times to get the same result as Rentokil, then it will work out the same / you get what you pay for! We live in a 4 bedroom house with a loft storage. I am hoping it won't come to that...

You can do it yourself - it's a bit of a bore but it is much cheaper.

I used www.mothkiller.co.uk. for all the sprays and foggers. The sad fact is that you will have to treat the house more than once. I did ours last year and the little blighters have made an appearance once again.

Better to treat either by using a company or doing it yourself rather than finding maggots in carpets in parts of rooms that the hoover doesn't reach...ugh!
