Any recommendations for baby cranial osteopath?

Postby darlingbabs1 » Mon May 10, 2010 10:39 am

Has anyone got a recommendation for one near Wandsworth Common? I have heard they are good - esp if the baby is a howler!

Adam Beaumont is a fantastic osteopath who specialises in cranial for children and worked wonders for my baby who was suffering after a traumatic birth and was suffering from bad colic. Adam is based at Thurleigh Road Doctor's Surgery in SW11 'between the commons' and his contact number is: 07966 177320

I work with lots of newborns and, when I think they may need a little gentle helping hand (after a C-section, a prolonged or traumatic birth, forceps etc), I take them along to John Carr who runs Clapham Osteopathic Practice Tel: 0207 633 6892. He is very gentle, sympathetic and doesn't spin treatments on and on like some of the less scrupulous practices do. Many of my mums go to him during and after the pregnancy too. If you would prefer to be treated by a woman, his partner Maria can see you. :P

Andrew at TBOPS!

Wonderful and won't uneccesarily bring you back if he doesn't think your baby needs it where I found with some they'll tell you you'll need more sessions than you do just to ge money.

I took both my little ones to Adam Beaumont. My son needed a lot of sessions as he had problems with his neck and was developing a severe flat head, my daughter was just fine and only had one session. I also visit Adam myself and at times he has worked miracles on my back in just one session.

Osteopathic centre for children (spo.org.uk 020 7490 5510) have a base at11 Riverside Commercial Quarter, Point Pleasant, SW18 1GG. I went to the north London branch when 3 yr old was a baby following emergency c section after undiagnosed breech. Who knows whether she needed it really but always a positive experience. They accept donations.

I can highly recommend Physio for All on 40 Webbs Road. They have a child clinic with osteos, physios and cranio-sacral. Very professionals! Mary was always turning her head to the right and her head was getting flat and also was not sleeping well. With just 3 sessions and lots of advices she is fine now. What a relief! Their contacts : 020 7228 2141 battersea@physio4all.com www.physio4all.com

I am a Complementary Practitioner & Reflexologist and have a clinic at the Awareness Centre on Abbieville Road. I would highly recommend a lady called Jo Bowyer who has over 25 years experience as a physiotherapist and cranial osteopath. She practises from the Centre on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays. - www.jobowyer.com. I also teach baby massage and highly recommend cranial osteopathy for babies who have acute reflux and colic.

The other person is Adam Beaumont who is also very good and specialises in cranial for children. He practises at Neals Yard on Northcote Road.

hope this helps

Sara

Further to my previous entry above, John Carr has now opened his own clinic with his partner Maria Sondberg: they are now www.ClaphamOsteopathicPractice.com. I have taken dozens of both my mum clients and their babies for him to treat and he has outstanding results.
