Anyone know a kind vet locally?

Postby Pinkfishblues » Mon Feb 27, 2017 8:54 am

Hi,

I am looking for a vet that loves animals and is soft with them. My cat has always been pretty mellow but recently he is getting aggressive when he goes to the vet. It is so unlike him I suspect they are pretty brash, but I will never know for sure. I know animals in general are not fans going to the vet, but it is making him extremely miserable. He also suffered a urinary blockage which could come back with extreme stress, we caught it early but next one could be lethal for him. We are based BTC but happy to do a bit of travel for the right vet.
Thank you in advance!

Mr Phakkey at Animal Choice on Upper Tooting Park is gentle and I think a thoughtful, helpful vet. We used him for our cat until he succumbed at the ripe old age of 18, and he is now vet to our elderly dog.

I '3rd' Mr Phakkey at Animal Choice! He is a quiet but charming man with a soft and gentle manner - he's brilliant with our cats, who don't seem to mind their visits to the vet!!

We've always used David Cuff on Abbeville Road and find them really caring and genuinely passionate about their patients. Good luck x

If you're BTC, try Rory Cusack at Westside Vets on Webb's Road. We have had cats since the 1980s and have used this practice since then. Rory in particular is absolutely wonderful. Our current cat is a very tricky customer but Rory is amazing with him and gives very no-nonsense, practical advice. Sandra, the Practice Manager is also amazing.

There is a mobile vets called scourfield veterinary services, they provide home visits in the area. The vet was lovely, incredibly kind and gentle, and our cat was much less stressed being treated at home.
