I agree with others who have said that the whole 'childless' 'dictator' stuff just sounds hysterical (not in the funny sense of the word, more deranged!). Your tone and personal comments are offensive. There is nothing wrong with that in that you are free to offend if you wish but they completely detract from any valid points you are trying to make.

Assuming that someone who is childless may have less of a concern for future generations is stupid. Also, not wanting to state the obvious but May was voted for by the Conservative Party who was democratically elected, who pledged a referendum and who also stated that Brexit would mean Brexit.

The situation is desperate and I am 100% in the Remain camp, but in my opinion, attacking May on grounds such as being childless and a dictator is just plain silly.

Well, I can’t resist responding to this I’m afraid.
To take points in turn, first yours Denwand, because it’s easily the silliest and you seem to be confused. Some facts for you - she’s not ACTUALLY A DICTATOR (obvs), but what May has done is attempt to usurp parliamentary process by denying the Commons a vote (remember Leave banging on about sovereignty?). It took a well-resourced citizen, Gina Miller, to bring a case to the Supreme Court, which she won, to ensure respect for the sovereignty of Parliament. That in itself is shameful conduct on May’s part. I dare say Gina will bring another action on the ‘meaningful vote’ and will probably win that too, the only downside being that the (losing) government’s legal fees will be paid by the taxpayer. – happy with that? I’m not. BLESS GINA MILLER XXXXXXXX 
Also Denwand, while I acknowledge TM is a ‘legitimate’ PM (technically), NO-ONE voted for her, so the idea of an unelected politician presiding in such a way over such a significant constitutional change with implications for generations is anathema to many. So in summary – childless is FACT, unelected is FACT, Theresa the appeaser is VERY apt. Your insults have no weight, you ought to perhaps go on a politics course or otherwise educate yourself is the best advice I have. Also really curious given the similarity of your usernames with Denshort , are you a couple or friends / family? Just in the interests of transparency…? Nice picture of Wolfie though, you aren’t entirely useless! 
Thanks very much for your kind comments and support Windmill26 and Misty32 – we will continue fighting the good fight. I will return to the other issues as soon as I’ve got the kids to bed.

OK, so this one is for Dudette, Denshort and to an extent Abbevillemummy.

Here's a quote from a mum on another site.

I understand why you mention Teresa May is childless...she does not leave the legacy of Brexit to her own children....but guess she may have nephews, nieces ....and she must wonder how she will go down in history.

She gets the reason I have referred to the PM as childless and makes some mitigating comments about the fact that she may well have younger relatives in her family for whose future she will be concerned. Sensible, balanced response, in stark contrast to some of the daft, knee-jerk ranting I've experienced on here and elsewhere.

For those making silly comments, where in my post do I say that anyone without children has worthless political opinions? I don't, in fact, I explicitly post to the contrary on various forums.

"I completely agree, it doesn't in any way diminish her ability or judgement".

I will also apologise if I've offended anyone without children, it was absolutely not my intention. I have simply realised that a large part of my anger about Brexit and the vote of older people to restrict the freedoms of younger people long after they are gone is entirely driven by my concerns for my children and their progeny. If I didn't have children, I'd still be majorly pissed off but I'd be perhaps 30% as angry as I am on behalf of my kids and the generations that will have to live with the nasty-looking future that we're moving inexorably towards. I don't think that view makes me selfish or a bad person, I'm just trying to be honest and articulate my feelings. Neither am I IN ANY WAY disparaging the views of those who don't have children. EVERYONE''S OPINION HAS EQUAL weight, for the record, but at the same time, I am not alone in noticing the irony of having a PM and Wandsworth MP who are both childless and making decisions that are going to affect our children's' entire lives. No offence or insult was intended but I concede I could perhaps have expressed my concerns in a better and less inflamatory way. we're all human.
Julian, yes, I know from having seen your posts over the years that you're not a mental, mail-reading brexiteer, quite the opposite, you're a conscious and considered individual that cares about their community, so I will take your admonishment in the spirit I hope it was intended, and yes I'm angry, but I'm not sure that's a bad thing. I think it will take sustained anger and activism to get this aberration overturned. I hope a few of you will join us on the march next Saturday and #resist! Best wishes to the NVN community for engaging in this issue and I thank you for you support.

Yes 48.1% of the country voted to remain in the EU (and I was one of them) but 51.9% voted to leave so we now just have to take a deep breath and get on with it. And while we may think Theresa May has not been given anor electoral mandate to do this, I certainly didn't vote for any if the Eurocrats to dictate what we should be doing either.

Well Guyd73...really!

I rest my case M'lud as your last two spittle-flecked and swivel-eyed posts perfectly illustrate my point about your puerile outbursts.

You just don't get it do you?

It's not your MESSAGE it's the way you EXPRESS it in childish, insulting and ill-considered invective. All those objecting to your post were Remainers - like myself!

As for comparing yourself to Gina Miller - please take some time out to read her considered, diplomatic, intelligent and inclusive articles - and compare them with your own original "rant".

Finally, your ill-judged and assumptive assertion that i am a malicious troll who writes under the name of Denshort and Denwand...if I was such, you might of thought I wouldn't have picked two names that were *slightly* less obviously connected?

But then again you seem so deluded that you probably think every post on here is written by me!

You'd better stop posting now before you do the Remain cause any more harm...

I'd like to see the UK Govt take the initiative over the EU and declare that all EU citizens currently resident in the UK can have indefinite right to remain here. Even Nigel Farage never said Brexit was about kicking people out. I think it would send a very positive message to the country, our citizens abroad and EU residents here.

In theory it would weaken our negotiating position, but I would suggest the EU would not be able to avoid offering 'quid quo pro' without individual countries such as Eire and Spain breaking rank and accepting on a national basis.

Perhaps one could lobby M.P's, M.E.P's accordingly? Just a thought.

What sort of person says "Eire" in this day and age? It's offensive and unnecessary. If you can't call it Ireland just say Republic of Ireland.

For what it's worth, Ireland has concerns about the large number of British migrants who have moved there because benefit levels are as much as 50% higher. There are very very few Irish migrants in the UK that either have not been here long enough to get permanent residency or are not earning enough to be entitled to a work visa.

Ireland is already experiencing illegal migration from the U.K.: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-38943531

I had no idea Eire was offensive. Apologies to any who were offended.

The use of "Eire" is so offensive....

...The Republic of Ireland still use it on their postage stamps...here's a recent 48 cent stamp.

...better tell them how offensive that is to Irish people...

I think Teresa is great and am so pleased she is fulfilling the will of the majority of the UK in pushing ahead with Article 50. I think my 5 year old and 7 year old have a brighter future because of this. Don't think Tusk and Junker have ever done us any favours, just lining their own pension pots and ignoring years of pleas for reform. Good riddance.

GuyD73 I'm appalled at the wording in your post and you've done yourself no good.
The decision has been made to leave and it will happen.

EIRE is not at all offensive and used frequently by the Irish. Just go to the Cork and Dublin airports and you will see signs in there!

For the ignorant, using the term "Eire" when writing in English is like using "Deutschland" to refer to Germany when one is writing in English. First off, it's wrong - if you're writing in English use the English name of the country. Secondly, it's offensive because it implies an agenda or slant.

Of course you'll see the name "Eire" on Irish stamps and in Irish airports, just like in Germany you'll see the name "Deutschland". That's not the point though.
