Recommendations for presents for 5-year old girl please!

Postby PilatesQueen » Tue Apr 18, 2017 10:42 am

Hello, my daughter is going to be 5 very soon and we are really struggling to think of present ideas for her. She has a 7 year-old sister, so lots of hand-me down toys and clothes from her, which makes it difficult to think of things she needs!

All ideas welcome!

She has a bike which she loves, is really into crafty things, which we have lots of, etc etc. We have lots of dressing up outfits...

Do any of you have some good recommendations for presents your daughters have loved?

Thank you!

How about a personalised present for her? This way, it is totally unique...

My daughter was given 'The little girl who lost her name' book for Christmas and she absolutely loves it...my son likes to read it too, and has now asked for one in his name (he'll have to wait until his birthday though), and I've since given one to my 6 year old neice for her birthday and it's gone down really well. It takes the child along an adventure meeting magical creatures along the way culminating in finding their name again.

Their website is lostmy.name - if I refer you, then you get 15% off but they're currently running a special offer with 20% off if you enter HURRAH at checkout which is better value than my referral code!

Hope this helps!

What about taking her to the theatre or another event/experience? You could give her a ticket if you still want her to have something to open on the day. There are some great local theatres that do kids productions or you go big and take her to the West End.

That's a great idea - thank you very much @HelenSWMum. I'll have a look and see what's on at the Polka. Thanks again :)

Build-a-bear workshop. It's kind of awful and overpriced but small girls love it.

Of course, the easy answer is simply not to buy her very much or get her stuff she needs anyway (like a new lunch box or an electric toothbrush). They just want a few things to unwrap and a bit of fuss made over them.
