You can insult all you like but some of us care about what is happening where we live and don't want it ruined just so some developers can make loads of money with 6-storey buildings that look horribleactuallyadad wrote:more nimby hysteria!

Is insulting the opinions of people you dont agree with your way of winning argument?actuallyadad wrote:it's just ridiculous to complain......
I definitely don't agree that what they are proposing is smart. I think it is quite boring looking and not in keeping with other buildings nearby. Plus what is there now is unobtrusive, only one story high, not six stories high...actuallyadad wrote:it's just ridiculous to complain that a new development of smart apartments
How does caring where we live mean we have to open it up to new people - I can't see the conexion.actuallyadad wrote:Caring about where we live also means opening the community up to new people moving in. Not locking it down and preventing all development. We need to move forward, not let the Victorians decide how many residences the area has.
There now appears to be a lack of small enterprise zones in our area. And, as you say, the businesses on Jaggard Way do well (though the gym could be busier if it charged more reasonable prices!).Entonces wrote:Once upon the nineteen eighties, WBC was at the forefront of creating little enterprise zones across the borough now it turns a greedy eye on Jaggard Way.

If you are renting now, will you be able to afford the sale prices of these new properties? I'm sure they won't be cheap!ianwelles wrote:Fantastic! I would love to buy one of these and stop renting (paying someone else's mortgage) in the neighbourhood.
I'm pretty sure based on all your comments that you are something to do with the developers or stand to gain in some way from the development taking place, as you seem absolutely determined that it should go ahead with no apparent regard for the impact on the local area or residents.actuallyadad wrote:If we worried about spoiling people's views towards Wandsworth Common (presumably over an industrial estate and a railway line ?!) then nothing would ever get built.
NICE LOOKING?! It's time you went to Specsavers!windmill26 wrote:"This area is like living in the country " ...but this is not the countryside ! You live in bustling city with an housing issues. There is no point in building homes similar in size to Victorian houses because they can accommodate two families at push. The apartment building design is nice looking and modern and I feel it will enhance the area .I don't understand your comment regarding the noise coming from the apartments.
