Sundance's comment is spot on and I can confirm 100% factually correct. As a Thomas's Battersea parent, some of the media coverage and social media commentary has been an excellent lesson in never to believe everything you read in the papers! We couldn't be happier with the school whether royalty is in attendance or not and I think it's wonderful they've chosen co-education.

No intention to offend parents at the school - didn't mean to! I quite like our royals, but it's a very British and (to me) refreshing trait to dislike grovelling behaviour. As compared with other countries where it's practically illegal to speak ill of royalty. Thankfully, our royals seem refreshingly down-to-earth, including sending the future King to a relatively normal school in Battersea, as compared with the super elite places they could have sent him, or home tutors and a million nannies.

I hope pupils haven't been too freaked out by those two people who managed to sneak into the school this week.

I am not offended but another factual correction.

*Two* people didn't manage to "sneak" in to the school this week. The other one was in the school holidays when it was a building site and weeks away from the start of term.

That said, someone posing as a teacher to gain or attempt to gain access in ANY school is obviously concerning.

Don't believe everything you read in the papers.

It's ridiculous. He's going to be King. There's nothing ordinary about him. He should have gone to school in Kensington and Chelsea - the Royal's desperation to prove their 'ordinariness' has just resulted in a lot of hassle locals, other parents and - I imagine - increased cost for the tax payer

Completely agree! But let's also stop this false pretense that the kid goes to an ordinary school! Unsure what they are trying to prove because at the end of the day they are not paying for it !

Don't misunderstand me on purpose, just to kick up a storm against private schools. It's not Wetherby, where his Dad went. As I said - "the super elite places they could have sent him, or home tutors and a million nannies".

Can't see how Wetherby is any more elite than Thomas's - fees are pretty similar. Wetherby full of celeb's kid which was probably a factor in it being ruled out for George

I am not against or in favour of private schools.I don't think they portray the real world out there but to each their own!.My point is,let's call a spade a spade...Thomas's IS a private school and the parents of the kids going to Thomas's are NOT your average earners! So,let's stop pretending that the Royals are sending their kid to the equivalent of a local state school as they don't want him to grow up in a bubble!

For my part, I wasn't trying to be negative about Prince George. If the others kids and their families at Thomas's battersea are happy, it must mean that I got the wrong end of the stick and the school does a good job at treating everyone equally!

Thomas's battersea is more down to earth than other prep schools, as its coed, teaches kids to be kind, having best friends is not encouraged so other children don't feel left out, etc. Some prep schools are much more stuffy.

I understand that the taxpayer will have to pick up the tap for the security of George's school runs.
I don't get why the taxpayer will be paying for the prince's education though... Is that a law or something?!?
Thomas's is way less stuffy that one of those boarding schools methinks...
And let's face it... Anyone who has the means would naturally enrol their child(ren) in a private school rather than in a state one. It provides better education, regardless if it's single sex or co-ed.
Whoever thought that Prince George will be getting educated in a state school anyway....
I'm pretty sure that other royal kids around the world are not attending any school resembling Thomas's. The security at Thomas's isn't any different than that at any other private or free school in London.

I don't get it why people are so bitter about a lovely couple, normal parents who have their freedom just like all of us to choose the best school of their choice. No Royal babies made their choice of being born into the Royal family. At the end of the day, they are human being deserve to live normal with respect from the community as much as how much good work they put into community from the family.

Thomas's Clapham Heads welcomed all children by the front door on the first day of the term. They always do. I assume all other sites should be the same. Thomas's is a great school! No where is perfect can suit everyone. But seriously they try their best to give children best learning and development environment.

Kindness please! Poor little George and his wonderful parents deserve nothing negative but just best wishes. They are a good family. Carrying Royal blood so what? Don't we agree they are lovely people?
