It doesn't Julian.
I actually live on Mallinson and although I haven't seen this particular car, it is all too commonplace to see cars speeding up and down the road. Mallinson Road is the first road off Bolingbroke Grove after the traffic lights on Battersea Rise so it's often the road that people turn down first to get to Northcote Road. They also cut through from Battersea Rise via Chivalry Road to avoid the traffic by The Northcote.
I asked the council a few years ago whether they would consider a one way system on all of the roads off Northcote, with Mallinson one way, Bennerley the opposite way, Salcott the first way and so on. Their response was that making the roads one way would just give a greater opportunity for people to speed. My argument is that people speed anyway so that they can get to the other end of the street before another car turns in!! I can't count how many times my car has been scraped due to people thinking they can get two cars past each other (you can't!!) and there was a horrendous row outside on Saturday morning when five or six cars refused to back up the road.
Out of interest, would anyone else back the suggestion for one way streets?
