Nursery in SW11

Postby jsanfilippo » Mon Mar 14, 2011 8:26 am

Can anyone recommend a good nursery or childminder near Battersea Park or Queenstown Road stations? I am looking to reserve a spot for October 2011 for my little girl to be born this April.

Blundells Day Nursery just behind the Latchmere centre is excellent. Staff have been there forever and are so caring. Their teaching program is second to none - do take a look! All three of my children attended and they absolutely loved it!

Good luck with your search.

Hi, dont know if you are still looking but I recently attended an openday at Lavender Hill day Nursery, next to Asda in clapham junction, they have decorated the whole nursery and have lots of new stuff, it looks and more importantly feels great. I have booked my little man to start in September.

Bringing Up Baby in Peardon Street in SW8 looks to be quite good. I don't think it is very well known in the area but the staff look to be very caring and child centred in their approach.

My two daughters (2,5 yrs old and 11 months) go at Bridge Lane Nursery near Battersea Park. It is oustanding, I and other mums I know who go there are so happy and confident that our children are going to be loved, cuddled and challenged...
It has a great ethos and a family feel, the children there are so happy. it is purpose-build and their outdoor space is one of the biggest (we are in london so it is all relative) I have seen, filled with great activities (slide, climbing frame, etc.). They go 2 days a week and these are my older child favourite days ;) and I think the youngest too...
The older one will be starting the preschool group in september. They go from 3 months to 5yrs old. They have 5 groups: babies (up to 15months), mobiles up to 2yrs old, toddlers till 3 and then preschool.
I cannot stress enough how great this nursery is and it is open 51 weeks a year!
It doesnt come cheap though.

I liked bringing up baby because it was good AND affordabl. It also didn't look like a corporate nursery and felt very homely.
