Nursery Help Clapham

Postby thelittlelegscompany » Tue May 31, 2011 4:05 pm

oops posted this in the wrong section !! I need some help which is why I have reposted this in Chat!

I am so unhappy with the nursery my DD is in and looking to move - we have only been there 3 months but I urgently want to get her out.

We live in SW4 and have love Northcote Gardens but they can only offer me 1.5 days (may be 2) and I need 3 days...it seems everyone else is full too. Does anyone know any other Clapham Junction area nursery that is taking and that is good...? Or does anyone know a good registered child minder who might be interested in taking that other 1 1/2 day.

Help!

Can i ask why you are unhappy? Obviously don't need to name the nursery but if you can express your concerns someone might know a nursery that is a better fit.

yes of course. It all seems very disorganised and whilst the staff are pleasant they aren't overly interactive with the kids - it is more like they are just there in case something happens. There are a couple who are amazing but they are in the minority.

I have dropped DD off late recently a couple of times which means I have seen the nursery in action and on three occassions now the ratios have not been right - on one occassion it was 8:1. When I picked it up with the Manager it was going to be looked into but nothing was every reported back. I also find her very unfriendly which makes me uncomfortable. When I walk in to drop DD off she never says hello and smiles.

We have also had an issue with potty training recently where they ignored my requests for no nappies and put a nappy on her. That has been sorted but low staffing levels was their excuse again.

I guess it is lots of little things and my gut instinct says there must be something better for DD and I feel I need to find it for her.

i just visted lavender hill day nursery at 3pm for my little man. i was very impressed with the way the carers looked after the children. the children looked happy and seemed to enjoy the day. i have booked a place to start in September. hope this helps you to find a place for your baby.
