Belleville - Webbs Rd or Meteor Street? Post Reply

We are looking to move one of our children who has dyslexia & dyspraxia to Belleville School. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice regarding the SEN provision at both sites, (which I have heard is excellent) and which site is likely to be best suited. It seems there is a current preference for Meteor Street as it's smaller, I guess on account of the one form entry and has more of a community feel. Any insight would be very much appreciated!

Provision should be the same at both sites, it is purely a case of whether your child would be happier in single form entry and, if you are looking at entry through the normal process rather than the SEN specific process, where there is a space first.

Thank you, in terms of entry through the normal process would that be a case of going on a waiting list and it would be case of whichever site happened to have a space first, as opposed to the SEN specific process, by which I assume you mean an EHCP, whereby you could specify which site you would prefer?

Yes - but you’re probably best to speak to the school or the local authority about admissions and the process. Without an EHCP you’d be on the “normal” waiting list but if you’ve got an EHCP there’s a different process to name a school.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone at the school with experience of the special needs provision. From what I can gather, it is supposed to be excellent, but I'm also aware that things can and do change very quickly!
