Nursery options in Battersea/Clapham/Chelsea

Postby Bailey » Wed Oct 07, 2009 5:19 pm

Hi Everyone,

I am having my first baby in December. I live in Battersea. I am Canadian and alot of British people are saying that my husband and I should sign up for some nurseries asap! I am totally lost as I only have one other pregnant friend. a) what are the best nurseries in the Battersea/Clapham/Chelsea area and b) do you just phone up and make an appointment? I would really appreciate any advice or guidance you may have or perhaps a useful link. Our priority is the best nursery and not neccessarily the cost.

Thank you very much and I look forward to reading this terrific website :)

Hi!

I don't think you really need to register from birth but I guess it depends on how early you are planning on sending your baby to nursery. I have heard fabulous things about Active Learning in Fulham, they have a great baby room plus an organic cafe and it is really new so it is nice and clean and bright. You can also log in at home and watch them on webcam!

I would send my Son there but it is a bit too far away for me!

Good luck with the new baby!

Hi there,

I sent my daughter to Bridge Lane Nursery from 11months - 2 years - they have a baby section too and the nursery worked really well - it is run by a family and all the staff I ever met were wonderful - excellent food at no extra cost for when they start to wean etc - a separate room with cots for sleeping in - as they get older they sleep on crash mats upstairs but that didn't present a problem - we had a lovely photo album and a progression report given to us when lara left to start at pre-school - couldn't rate it more highly!!!!! Bridge Lane nursery is situation at the bottom of battersea bridge road opp the health centre - just call them up and make an appt - - the sooner the better in some respects as they do get booked up !!
hope this is of some help
:D :D
