Independent schools in Putney

Postby Hannah K » Sun Apr 08, 2018 7:45 pm

We are looking for an independent, mixed preparatory school to send our daughters to in Putney or surrounding areas. Has anyone got any suggestions and specifically any parents opinions or pros and cons of either Roche v Hurlingham?

Thanks a lot
Hannah

My kids are at/ have gone to The Roche. They absolutely adore their school, their teachers and their friends. The literally skip into school everyday as do all their buddies. It is a loving , friendly and inclusive school which gets great results. My eldest was there and he has mild Aspergers and ADHD and he received all the help he needed and my 2 others are completely neurotypical. The eldest has got into Thames Christian College and the middle one with start at Emanuel next year. I can’t rate the school more highly.

Hi, I have 2 children at The Roche school and we love it. My eldest is in year 6 and she will be so sad to leave at the end of this term, she has made such wonderful friends. It is nurturing and caring with great teachers that get to know your child and adapt the learning in line with their needs. Children are happy and leave The Roche to top secondary schools. There is also a great sports team, fantastic art teachers and the drama productions are fabulous. There are plenty of extra-curricular clubs. My son is in year 3 and enjoys all elements of school. It is a fantastic school. I would recommend you attend one of their open mornings to see for yourself.

Both of my girls are at The Roche and they love it. Completely different children academically but the school caters for that and it suits them both. They have an Open Day on May 11th which you should definitely check out. The tours are given by the children and you get a good feel for what the school is all about.

I agree with everything that has already been posted about The Roche School!! I know both schools quite well and the ethos and inclusiveness at The Roche is exceptional. They really do care and nurture each individual child that attends the school so their full potential can be achieved - which is not always the case at independent schools!!! They provide plenty of opportunities in sport and the arts for children in school and also as extra curricular options. Do check out an Open day!
