Best divorce lawyers

Postby Pleasehelp2018 » Sun May 27, 2018 1:40 pm

Name change for obvious reasons. I am in need of a good divorce lawyer ASAP please, someone with experience of a very financially astute and manipulative husband.

I am in what is now apparent to be a psychologically abusove relationship whereby my husband likes to try and blame my “mental health” issues for every small thing.

We have been together 15 years, and I’ve stayed for the sake of my two daughters. But after two suicide attempts I realise that staying, and the resulting detriment to my mental health is worse than leaving.

My husband is a financial trader with many different portfolios and accounts that I have little knowledge of. I am in no way stupid and work in finance myself, but the abuse in the relationship led at one point to me quitting a fulfilling and successful role for something less good. I don’t know where to even begin to start rationalising or talking of compensating any of this to allow me to break free whilst keeping myself and my girls financially solvent. But I must. Any advice would be so appreciated, please. If there are any lawyers who could start to grapple with this.

I am so sorry to hear of your situation but heartened to hear you feel strong enough to find yourself a way out. Please do not hesitate to call Magnus Mill at Alexiou Fisher Phillips
http://www.afplaw.co.uk/team/ who has been unstintingly knowledgeable, professional and efficient whilst also showing immense humanity, kindness and patience in my similarly difficult and seemingly impossible circumstances.
Take a friend with you to take notes when you have lawyer meetings and to keep reminding you what you are trying to achieve when the going gets tough.
You can get through this and go on to live a free and happy life and the law will ensure you and your daughters are provided for financially, even if your husband is unwilling.
Very best wishes.

Hi

There are two people I would like to recommend.

The first one is a wonderful lady that will help you get ready for the process. Not only does she help you get all the paperwork ready, but she helps you deal with the mental trauma. She is amazing and lovely and warm and really worth it. And, because she helps you in the initial stages too, it means that the divorce lawyer will be cheaper! Her name is Margaret Yates, her business is ZEN Divorce Coach, margaretyatesfwmm@gmail.com, 07477 589 832, www.zen-divorce.co.uk.

And a fab divorce lawyer is Michelle Camacho, michelle.camacho@taylor-rose.co.uk, 07956 362 706. www.taylor-rose.co.uk.

Good luck

As I work with so many families going through life transitions including separation and divorce, I was asked to write up my recommendations for divorce lawyers for another group last year. It can be found on my blog here : https://right-size.co.uk/divorce-lawyer ... top-picks/

Hope this helps!

Hi there

I am a family lawyer and mediator based in Clapham Common and Hammersmith (we have two offices) and my firm specialises exclusively in family law. My partner Antonia Mee and I were associates at top family law firm Withers before leaving to set up our own practice offering the same advice but at lower rates. You can read about the firm at www.burgessmee.com.

I'd be happy to have a brief chat to see if I can help in any way. You can call in and speak to my PA Cathryn who can arrange a time to speak.

It sounds like a horrible situation, but all too familiar I am afraid. I hope you find the right support for you and your children.

Best wishes

Emily Watson at Raydens is extremely good with manipulatively charming  people - to cite the friend who has used her, "she sees through them like tissue paper". She has expertise in high worth financial settlements and child arrangements orders and my friend was very, very relieved to have her on side. She's listed in the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners as especially expert in abuse cases, and those with complex financial considerations.

https://raydensolicitors.co.uk/team/emily-watson/

She was recommended to me for that friend, who had a horrible situation with her husband and did a phenomenal job. (The person who recommended her is a family law barrister.)

I'm so sorry you're in this situation. The pain and stress must be immense. You're doing the right thing, and try to take care of yourself.

Edited to say: I just realised this is a 'zombie' thread, and from a few years ago now. I hope so much things are better for you, and you secured the help you needed and deserved to have.
