Hello South London Daddy
Elaine here from The Parent Practice and I completely get how button pressing it can be with a toddler whose behaviour is unruly and I am guessing you may be spending a lot of time repeating and reminding, cajoling and bribing and then just feeling exasperated with the behaviour.
You are correct in saying we work with the parents only and not the children. We do indeed signpost to other specialists such as speech and language, occupational therapists or educational psychologists if we feel that is needed. However often we say the first bus to get on is the positive parenting one as we must not be too quick to send out children to professionals as often they are left to wonder if anything is wrong with them.
Our philosophy is that we as parents have the biggest impact on our children's behaviour and firstly we need to understand their temperament and needs and then know how to get the best out of them and often it's case that we tend to spend more time on the behaviour we don't like and inadvertently our toddler trains us beautifully to give lots of lovely attention to the poor behaviour. All children are hard wired to get attention from us!
Happy to have a discovery call with you to see if we are the right people to support you -if that sounds of interest just email

All the best Elaine and the TPP team
