My toddler has been diagnosed with a squint and has a prescription for glasses. Can anyone recommend a good optician in the Clapham area?

My son has has a squint and long sightedness since he was 8 months old and they’ve been great.. it can be tough finding good glasses for little ones

I'm sorry, I don't know, but I am interested in your post.

I have never taken my kids (7 and 4) to see an optician. They don't have any problems, but I'm just wondering whether kids should have regular check ups with the optician, at what age this should start and if it is offered on the NHS.

I regularly have their teeth checked out, but I wonder if I should be checking their eyes regularly too or if this is only necessary if there is a problem...

If anyone does take their kids to the optician regularly please let me know where you go. Thank you.

I have 2 children with convergent squints. Both have been through Moorfields eye hospital.
I’ve tried loads and loads of opticians and in my view nowhere is as good as Specsavers on St Johns St. I always regret not going there if for one reason or another we end up going somewhere else.
Much better price-wise and service is brilliant.

At that age I’d get your GP to refer you to St George’s where you can attend the Moorfields clinic.

My son has had classes since 2 and Moorfields have been fantastic.

For kids specsavers are great as you can get two pairs for free with the NHS voucher
The Clapham Junction place is good and so is the one near Tooting Broadway

If you want an independent then Bellmore on Northcote are v good
