Hi

Has anyone done the smear test at Thurleigh Practice? How long did it take to have the result back?

I have done almost 3 weeks ago and still not result.

As I m new to the aerea I m wondering if this is normal... as I m bit stressed as I had issue in the past.

Hi AJ,

I don't go to that practice, but everywhere I've had my tests (I've moved around the country a lot) my results have been back within 2-4 weeks via post. The nurses have always told me that they would call if there were any abnormalities. 
If you're concerned give the practice a call and ask.

Usual is about 2 weeks, but it was in the news that there are currently big national testing lab restructuring that coincided with a Public Health campaign about smear tests

This has resulted in a huge UK-wide backlog (maybe months, according to the report). Call the practice, but be prepared for a potential wait

Usual get my results within 2 weeks, however took mine in February and it took + 3weeks until I heard something.
