Battersea Nurseries... any recommendations?

Postby Ciara » Tue Oct 13, 2009 2:40 pm

Our son is 12 weeks old and I've heard I'm very late to be thinking about nurseries! Don't want to send him until 6-9 months (depends on work) - should I have sorted this already?
Any recommendations about Battersea nurseries would be very helpful - heard Blundells is great but won't take kids before 18mths. Bridge Lane or Asquiths? Any others I should know about? We live just off Latchmere Road behind Battersea Park Road...
And is it just me or do they seem very expensive? New mum, don't know about these things!!
Thank you for your help - apologies if this subject has been done to death already!

Hi
I don't know many of the nurseries around there but hopefully some of our users will and I will mention this in our weekly email next week, if you can wait a few more days that almost always gets a response!

Thanks for using NappyValleyNet.com

My niece used to go to Bridge Lane and she was very, very happy there. If I hadn't lived too far I wouldn't have hesitated to send my kid there, but Kids Unlimited was a lot closer to us so that's where we went and they were really good.

My daughter is just about to be one and she has been going to Asquith since she was 5 months old. The baby room is fantastic - they really do love the children so much and look after them so well.

We joined up whilst I was still pregnant and we were not sure where we would be living. We are now on Lavender Hill and the nursery is just about close enough not to be a nuisance. I would pick somewhere good and within walking distance, especially good if you have a made rush back from home one night!

Good luck!

My daughter went to Bridge Lane too - excellent place with very capable, competent staff - well worth having a look around.

Hi there, my daughter worked at the Asquith nursery in Latchmere rd
in Battersea and in a balham nursery and did not like either of them.
She is a very good nursery nurse manager but she does have High
standards, have you thought about little Gardens it is opening in January
off the Northcote road, they have others and they are very good.
I am a childminder of over 30years and in my opinion I feel that
little people are better with a childminder till they are about 2 years old.
They have a better chance of a 1/1 relationship in my opinion, we have
a meet the minder session once a month in either Balham or Garrett
lane. It is where you can meet minders with vacancies from all over the county and have
a chat with other mums. If you or anyone else are interested inthis please
email me and I will send you the number to ring with the times and dates of the next
meeting.
