Aircraft Noise

Postby kulanz » Tue Sep 25, 2018 12:26 pm

Hi all,
We live in Clapham North for over 10 years and suffering from sudden huge aircraft noise since we got back from summer vacation.  Constant noise from 5am to late night and fly very very low.
Please see below comments.

Oh god. I grew up on the flight path and quite close to the airport so we used to play games to guess which airlines were flying over our house as kids. I guess you could say I am used to aircraft noise, but this is way too much. As I am typing now I have heard 4 planes overhead. Is that even possible?

Aircraft noise (and helicopters) has definitely got worse over the past few months, and it is particularly noticeable early morning. I have contacted Heathrow and commented in the link given by kulanz above but expet nothing of it...any investigative journalists out there up for a challenge to uncover the truth and shame Heathrow?

Yes, it starts at 4:30 in the morning and finish sometimes at midnight for whole day without stop. I mean 1 plane with 30 seconds silence interval. The thing is they fly incredibly low, looks like Heathrow is just around the corner and make huge noise. What I cannot understand is there are not enough complaints.. As far as I know the plane cannot pass the sky of Paris except aircraft army. The UK government don’t care the residents in Wandsworth, London? The journalists will move with our complaints.

I've just come across this thread after posting a comment on another thread about plane noise.

I have lived in SW11 for 13 years and, like the person who wrote the initial post, noticed a sudden & definite increase in plane noise in approximately September 2018. This level of noise, and frequency, has continued regularly ever since and is having a major effect on our quality of life.

I would appreciate any explanation as Heathrow denies that anything has changed. This does not make sense.

Note: Wandsworth Council has now deleted the page which was linked to in the original post, where people were able to leave comments about Heathrow noise. It seems they have no interest in this issue anymore, if they ever did.

The noise levels on the flight path are (or should be) actively monitored, You may want to contact the CAA
