Uppababy Cruz vs Vista Post Reply

Looking for advice please! We were originally set on the Vista because it can be converted for two, but I've read some reviews that say it is then hugely heavy and cumbersome as a double. Given that we live in central London and don't have a car, we are leaning towards the Cruz (slightly lighter and more compact), but I've heard it's less comfortable to push and more bumpy for the baby. Any thoughts very welcome as we can't try them out in the shop!

We were struggling with the exact same decision last year at this time. We went with the Cruz for the reasons you’ve highlighted (lighter and greater mobility) and haven’t been disappointed. The vista doesn’t fit in a lot of older buildings single doors (pubs for instance; meaning two doors have to be opened rather than one) which was also a drawback for us. While I obviously can’t ask my daughter if she’s comfortable in it, she doesn’t seem uncomfortable and enjoys long walks. The Cruz is also much easier to get on buses, if you take buses at all.

Definitely recommend Cruz over Vista.  Have used Cruz for both my children over varied terrain and through extensive travelling and never had a problem with it being uncomfortable for the child or difficult to push.
With the Vista you will struggle to fit well in the the London buses but the Cruz much slimmer and I was always relieved with my purchase decision everytime I saw someone struggling with the Vista on public transport.  If you rely on public transport, especially London buses, I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to get the Cruz over the Vista!  No it doesn't convert to a double buggy but by the time my second was born my eldest was 2 1/2 so we just attached the Uppababy buggy board and that was perfect.

We had the Cruz five years ago and I loved it BUT we had repeated problems with the front wheels. First time, we swapped for another one but when it happened again, we decided to return it and swap to a Baby Jogger. The sales assistant at John Lewis said they'd had quite a few with the same issue. So I would recommend the Cruz but buy from somewhere with a good returns policy in case of issues.

We had the Vista, took a punt that we’d have a second child quickly and got lucky. So it’s been very very useful. We are now getting to the point where we can sell it on after two children (the eldest is 4) and plenty of moments of “I’m so grateful to have this buggy!!”.

I would say that once folded down I don’t think the vista is not very much bigger than the Cruz. We had our vista in the downstairs hallway of a flat for 3 years (Before moving) and whilst an annoyance (as any buggy would be) it was manageable!!

If I was to do it all again and had the money, I would buy a nice simple compact Baby Zen yoyo for my first which then, as and when baby no 2 came along, I would use that as a travel/keep in the car buggy and get a reasonably priced/second hand double buggy for day to day use.

Everyone I know who has bought the Vista has complained about the size. Having said that, one couple who had their second baby very close to their first was still very glad to have got it.

Everyone I know who bought the Cruz seems happy with it. It's a very practical buggy with great storage space below. From a practical perspective, it's as good, if not better than, the Bugaboo Fox and Cameleon 3 Plus, but at a much more affordable price point.
