Before you commit to this route - or alongside your first steps down it - have you tried acupuncture? The medical basis is sound now and decently evidenced - you can research it for yourself. It worked for me within 6 weeks of starting sessions.

Monaliza wrote: Wed Jan 15, 2020 11:52 pm Would you please recommend Lister Fertility Clinic over Chelsea and Westminster fertility unit?

I've done my initial consultation with Chelsea and Westminster which was £350. They didn't even provide me with treatment costs and required HyCoSy test. I am thinking about scheduling a consultation with Lister too.

Any recommendation/insight would be greatly appreciated. I am struggling...

Hi Monaliza,

Did you end up going to Lister? I know they do an open evening. Maybe worth to check it out.

I've been referred to a gynaecologist through my GP. But they messed up my appointment after waiting over 2 months and now it's another 2 months wait. I'm getting impatient as I'm 40. I'm thinking to go for a private consultation. But not sure if it's worth the cost as we havent decide whether ivf is the route for now. I'm just keen to speed things up and get all the tests done and then look at my options for IUI and IVF.

Hi LastMumStanding

I'm a believer in acupuncture, but my last acupuncturist used very long needles and she twisted them too. :( I was so nervous during the sessions. I've stopped going to her now. May I get the name of your acupuncturist please?

This was 14 years ago now, so I’m sure people will reply with more recent experiences, but after being treated like we were on a conveyor belt at the Lister we went to this wonderful clinic near London Bridge.

https://www.londonwomensclinic.com/

It’s smaller but more personal - they listen to your needs and you get treated like a human being. We were successful first time there.

Best of luck!

Did you get an answer? I am new on this site but I can tell you where NOT to go of those two. Particularly if you are already stressed with fertility issues.

Hi

I’m deciding between CRGH and ARGC, if anyone could advise on the two that would be much appreciated please. Just had an initial consultation with CRGH and planning on doing a consultation with ARGC this week.

I’m 44 now and had my daughter when I was 40. I did IUI, then 3 rounds of IVF, which all failed... I finally fell pregnant naturally.
It was such a tough time, that feeling of being useless, why me, why can’t I get pregnant!!!! Both my husband and I had a myriad of tests and all came back as “normal”, that there was no reason to not get pregnant, so we were put into the “unexplained infertility” category which was even more frustrating! I did IUI at Lister Hospital and to be honest, it was pretty useless. The only thing I got out of that was a little training/prep for full on IVF. I personally would say don’t bother with IUI, waste of money. For IVF, I was lucky (if you can call it that!) to get the treatment on the NHS - we fulfilled all the requirements so we were eligible (non smokers, no previous children, of a certain age, etc.....). I did what they call “conventional IVF” where they basically try to get as many eggs as possible to give you the best chance of more than one succeeding in blastocyst stage. All 3 rounds failed for me.... then out of the blue, I got pregnant naturally, much to my surprise as we were planning on going again for IVF bUt a different kind.... if I had my time again, I wouldn’t choose the conventional IVF, I would definitely go with the gentler, more “natural” IVF which doesn’t pump you full of drugs, but works with your body. It’s not about quantity of eggs but rather quality of the eggs, so you end up taking less drugs for a shorter period of time (you also spend less!). I was looking into a place called CREATE Fertility which did exactly that. Worth investigating all IVF treatments to see what suits you.

I went to CRGH in 2018/2019 and would wholeheartedly recommend. We had Dr Saab and he was brilliant. Very thorough, no stone unturned and took really good care of me. All the staff were so lovely I could not fault them. I cycled at Create prior to going to CRGH and I would not recommend unless you have a low ovarian reserve which is something they will pick up in the tests. I did not have a good experience there at all. Let me know if you want more info.

We recently find out I have a low AMH level (3pmol/L) and, at 34 years old, we have decided not to take chance and go for IVF. Based on recommendation and statistics we shortlisted 3 clinics : Lister, Create and CRGH

We had an initial consultation with Lister and CRGH and have done a scan at Create (the scan is a requirement for Create before the first consultation)

We now need to decide which clinic to go for among he three. All made a good first impression. They have different style. CRGH is much more intense in terms of mediation and tests, but not sure yet if it a bad or good thing. CRGH already ask us to book more checks, for instance they do a dummy embryo transfer test . They also recommended us some vitamin (e.g. D for me, C for my partner etc). Lister and Create don't do the transfer test and don't recommend vitamin outside of folic acid. So the change in style is important

In terms of statistics, Create is strong at "Births per embryo transferred" with a score of 39% (national average of 29%), for a sample of 140 embryos transferred. For the "Births per egg collection", CRGH is the strongest at 65% (national average of 44%). Source: hfea website, from 2015. On the websites, stats are much better, but could be manipulated.

I will keep the forum updated with my experiences so it can be useful for others.

If you have advice or experienced to share, especially to help deciding between clinics, it will be more than welcomed,

Best

I have just seen your post and so I thought to ask if you are also considering a natural way to improve your fertility?

Often when there are no medical reasons found for not being able to conceive, the reasons might be psychological(and hidden deep within us). After all, how often do we hear stories of someone trying to conceive for 10 years with no success, and when they give up and shift their attention to something else, they fall pregnant.
This is why specialised Hypnotherapy is known to double the chances of conceiving, it addresses the psychological subconscious blocks, and clears them out, which gives way to the natural way of becoming pregnant.

And it is also much cheaper than many of the other techniques, which often cost thousands of pounds and put enormous strain on the body.

We have a wonderful Infertility and IVF Support specialist at the Wellbeing Centre London, she not only managed to conceive herself thanks to Hypnotherapy, which means she understands what you are going through, but she also combines Hypnotherapy with coaching and counselling, which means she supports you through all the up and downs you are going through on this journey. She is a very experienced therapist and a really wonderful woman, we are lucky to work with her.

Wellbeing Centre London is based in Putney Bridge, but Lauren also does sessions online. Lauren's profile on our website wellbeingcentrelondon.  com /our-therapists/lauren-jacobs/

Recommendation needed: IVF Clinic in London

Postby Rochie » Sat Sep 05, 2020 7:48 am

IVF help and advice please

I am currently deciding between
ARGH
CRGC
Lister

If anyone has any feedback on the above, it would be great to hear.

None of them are local to me so I will likely get an Airbnb nearby. How long did the process take for you?
Realistically is 2 months enough time?

Also, if you went here how much did it cost all in?
I understand the IVF price has lots of add ons. Just want to get an approximate.

Thank you so much in advance for any help ❤️
