House sale - estate agent recommendations

Postby B&BsMum » Fri Jul 10, 2020 10:26 am

Hi NVN-ers

We're hoping to sell our house in whatever small window there is post-lockdown #1 and pre whatever is next.

Any recent experiences of agents, good or bad, would be greatly appreciated. We're currently in discussions with Rampton and Dexters, both of whom are coming across well. Any red flags that we should be aware of?

Thanks in advance.

We sold and bought with Paul at Moveli! Could not fault him! Sensible pricing and excellent service in any sense. Paul lives between the Commons and really knows the market.

Another recommendation for Paul at Moveli. Really great service, down to earth approach, highly experienced, lives in the area so really knows it well. Also because they don't have any retail space they are more competitively priced that other local agents. Can't recommend him highly enough!

Will Pasquali at Hamptons Clapham Old Town - sold our house earlier this year (and kept sale alive through first lockdown) Also sold something else for us 5 years ago. Decent guy

Paul @ Moveli also showed me a flat and seemed decent too

Depends where you are and what you’re selling. If you’re selling a house between the commons, I highly rate Rampton Baseley and Thorogood’s. I find the Lavender Hill and St. John’s Road agents over price to win the business and end up having to reduce asking prices eg Dexters/winkworth etc.

RB, Thorogood, Savill’s and Hamptons price realistically, I find. KFH are also on the high side. I also didn’t have a great experience with James Pendleton when we were renting short during a renovation. I would rate them in with the Dexters/Winkworths of this world.

Helen at Savills on Nightingale Lane, definitely. Really hard working and knows the area so well.
