Free head lice advices

Postby arctec » Wed May 17, 2017 9:35 am

Dear mums,

We are looking for children, or adults who have head lice. Would you be willing to donate head lice for science?

Let me first introduce our organisation. We are arctec an independent test centre specialised in the evaluation and development of arthropod pest control technologies, at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. We are involved in several very exciting projects where head lice products will be tested to develop better treatments. If those studies are successful, this should make treating head lice more efficient and easier for parents and children who suffer from head lice! But this can only be possible if you kindly donate some head-lice to us.

We would like to stress there is not a current or ongoing problem with head lice in your school or area, do not be alarmed! We just ask that if you or your child is unlucky enough to have a head lice infestation, and you are interested in donating, you would please contact us directly. We understand that you will want your child treated as quickly as possible, so we should be able to arrange a visit by a couple of our scientists within 24 hours. If your child has a large infestation, we would consider setting up a private session for just you and your child. If this is relevant to you, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We will be also very happy to give you advice on how to treat head lice in return, though we cannot offer treatment ourselves. Your child’s name and all other information will be kept confidential. We will not tell the school that your child has a head lice infestation. We very much hope that you will accept our invitation to donate some head lice.

If you would like to donate head lice or to find out more, please do not hesitate to contact me by private message.

Kind regards

Head lice can only survive on heads so I don’t think that’s true about needing to disinfect the whole house. I used to use Hedrin gel which is non-toxic on my kids. I have to say I should have gone into business as I found combing the little blighters out very satisfying!
