Bit of a weird one. Feels a bit like you’re being paid to carry your own child if you expect it right from the start. I hadn’t heard of it tbh and I don’t feel I’ve missed out.

To be clear it’s the expectation I’m questioning. If you got a lovely surprise gift from your partner then great.

I received a present for all 4 of my children- a bangle for each of them, and I I wear daily. They love to ask me about their bangles and whose is whose and how they were born, etc. When we lost a baby my husband also gave me a ring to wear- so not a bangle like the other but symbolically also sits on my same hand. They are without a doubt the best presents I ever received as they represent such special things.

Congrats!!

If you have the cash, why not.. ?!!! It's a keepsake, and something to hand down within the family.... My sister has kids and she had gifts from her other half..

I really like Jessica Lotz - she does a lot of keepsake type jewellery - some of it is is mid price, but if you go for gold it can be pricey - but her pieces can be handed down to generations...https://jessicadelotz.co.uk/ She does a lot of bespoke - her work is quite unusual, so not for everyone, but I really like her wax seal charms which come in a range of sizes. I had one from my Sis for my 40th and I cherish it ;o)

Good luck and don't feel guilty for wanting a pressie!!!   😂

I was given a ring in my daughter’s birthstone for my first and a painting for my second. We see them as ways of celebrating their birth and actually gifts for them that they’ll receive when they turn 18. I’m just “safeguarding” them in the meantime! 😂

Yes but my other half wasn't into it.
If you want one, you may have to get it yourself.
With the first, it was a nespresso machine.
Not sure what I'll do for the second. Maybe a eufy?
