Fundraiser for Lady Allen Special Needs Playground

Postby snmalik24 » Mon May 03, 2021 9:27 am

Good Morning All!

I wanted to let everybody know about a sponsored 50k walk being organized by the staff of Lady Allen Special Needs Playground on Wandsworth Common. The allocated funding has had to be used for new safety measures and repairs to vandalism, so nothing is left over to purchase much-needed new bicycles and equipment for the kids.

Please take a look at the gofund me for more info and details on how to donate,

Thanks for the support!

Done.

Lady Allen holds a special place in my heart as it’s the only place I could relax with my son when he was a toddler - we used to attend the mixed access sessions. Made a change from standing at the fence watching trains go up and down!
It was lovely to be able to talk to other parents of kids like mine.

Unfortunately I was never able to use it for sessions when he was older as we lived just over the boarder in Lambeth, so son went to Charlie Chaplin in Kennington (also good but not a patch on Lady Allen at that time). I always found it nuts that although I worked in Northcote Road, I would have to take public transport to Kennington to access holiday play facilities! Still, at least we had something to take our kids too. I don’t think people realise how limited play facilities are for disabled kids.
