What children's cricket club do you recommend ? Underwhelmed by Spencer this year Post Reply

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone has any good recommendations for a good children’s cricket club - we been very underwhelmed by Spencer cricket this year, they seem to provide very few proper coaches, large groups and rely a lot on the parents (and from speaking to some of the 'coaching dads', they have had no training in cricket at all).

The Spencer season is also very short for the £135 cost, so the progress has been limited  - my son still has no clue how to bowl aged nearly 10.

AJ Coaching in Wimbledon look good, anyone else have a good positives for where to join next year ?

Hi,
Wanted to mention that both my son and daughter have been very happy with Sinjun Grammarians Cricket Club at Trinity Fields for many years. Now both too old with different interests.
It’s a bit more “down-to-earth” compared to Spencer, pricing is very reasonable also.
Coaching is good and if your son likes to play matches, he would be able to join their Match-team playing in the Surrey League. I heard that the U-12’s team won the League this year, despite the fact that they rotate team to give everyone a chance to play.
All in all a really nice place with a lovely, inclusive atmosphere.

We’ve been very pleased with Wimbledon Cricket Club. Excellent holiday clubs too. Not sure how long the waiting list is though.
